Thanks for the screenshots TaliBane. And your custom is very cool. Awesome work, dude!
re: Sideshow vid - aaargh - underlighting! nothing makes a figure/headsculpt look like complete a$$ more than underlighting,
*Edit
Unless he's in a Michael Jackson video
Billy Dee is not my Skiff Guard...he's just a man who says that "We're on our waaaayyyy"

Yeah I'm definitely loving the proportions on your custom a whole lot better Talibane! Hopefully switching this to a leaner body will improve things a bit.

I've gotten a little tired of having to do that - I've swapped out the buff body from my SSC TIE Pilot and SSC Snowie Commander in the past year (and would have done the SSC ATAT driver and Biker if I hadn't sold them.) The bodies are just too big/bulky (and also tall) once everything is added on.

I'll have to check what body I used for my custom Lando. It's a really tight body too - most of the newer SSC bodies are better with floppiness but do still have issues on the hips, which can affect tweaking of poses.

And yeah I plan to get this in-hand then decide whether the custom or the SSC fig is the "hero display" Lando vs "in the Palace crowd" dio display Lando.

Yes. I think the broad shoulders are making the cheat armor seem smallish. But overall I think it?s fairly accurate.
The white strings just have to be replaced. But that?s the easiest fix ever.

Odd about the "now we see it now we don't" video. Link is dead now so a big thank you to TB for the screen shots.

It doesn't look...terrible but...

I hope the hide n' seek Sideshow is playing with this ends and we get a better look.

Probably won't see this figure in my neck of the woods until February anyway...

Weird that we can?t see the video. This doesn?t look great. The body is way too broad and those white strings. The problem is it?s not a hot toys figure, but it is priced like a hot toys figure. The custom in this thread is a million times better.

So wait. This is the last of the their star wars figures? We have to rely on hot toys now? ****....

Well it's not officially confirmed as their last.

But do a little investigation and determine the answers to these points.

1). When was the last SS 1/6 figure released ?
2). Have they shown any other 1/6 figures at their own event this year, or last year ???

Seems like a foregone conclusion to me considering they have shown NO additional Star Wars 1/6 figures in a time when Star Wars is the hottest franchise in town.

Even this figure seems to be being released under the radar.

It seems pretty reasonable to conclude that this is only allowed to be released because it was in development before Sideshow lost the license.

Well, at least those of us who actually saw the video are relatively excited about how he turned out. Even Tali who already has a great custom [emoji1745] ...things like the white strings are very minor issues. You can just dirty them up if you don?t want to exchange them. And like with so many other figures, the figure might do better with a cheap narrow shoulder body. I think that the figure should have cost around $220-230, but other than that I don?t see anything in the video that makes the it look terrible.

No, it doesn’t look terrible in the video. The sculpt is still not something I won’t be using but I never planned to display him without his helmet anyways. I’m already on the hunt for a narrow body and the strings look to be easily dyed.

I’m just happy this is still getting made. Because of the long delay and license issue I would have bet money this got cancelled.

I managed to see the video and also took some screen shots. However pretty similar to Talibane.

I was however impressed with the Vibroblade details.

Here are a couple of additional pics which show the leatherwork.

The painted leatherwork on the helmet looks pretty impressive too.

For a little perspective here...no, it's not HT but it's also not this:

This is the Hasbro 12" Lando Skiff Guard figure.

Fun for it's time, a decent, mass-market figure sold as a toy.

If the Sideshow one looks better than this, I'll be pleased.

No, it's not HT (but they've had their own share of missteps " cough-jawa-cough", and the price is a little steep, but with what we've seen so far and the fact that I was pleased with the last two Sideshow figures I got, this figure should be okay.

Still looking forward to seeing this figure.

Same here. It'll look just fine with my Jabba display... which is all Sideshow stuff anyway :)

Some of my favorite toys have been made by Sideshow, sad to see them go. I firmly believe they could continue making one or two Palace/Cantina creeps a year and would achieve sales numbers worth their while. I hope this Lando sells well, and I would encourage anyone who wants more Sideshow Star Wars to buy this.

So I preemptively emailed Brian's Toys about the Black Friday discount on the figure since it charged in full and figured to get that cash back. They replied saying it was an error but they decided to allow the discount. I'm flabbergasted lol. I had ordered something else with it, SS excl Plo Koon, don't know if that helped!

Seeing that kind of makes me want to build a life size Vibroblade prop now. It's such a cool design and would probably be an awesome thing to have on display. In fact I'm surprised there aren't already resin kits for it on Etsy along with every other SW prop they have.
