This probably is one of Sideshow’s better efforts. Not sure if I think it’s better than the Hot Toys version. I probably prefer the look of the Original Trilogy version, but I feel ultimately that Hot Toys will put out a better overall figure.

I’d have to agree with Mike. The biggest shortcoming on this was the color of the robe and poor weathering. It can be fixed but with great effort.

Like on their Jawa.:monkey3:lol

great mods to the tuskers guys. sideshow almost hit this one out of the park but it's few shortcomings were not so insurmountable that a few easy tweaks couldn't fix them.

The Sideshow Jawas are okay. They would be a lot better if the bodies weren’t so floppy.

I have jawas from both Sideshow and Hot Toys - my Sideshow bodies aren't all that floppy and aren't hugely different construction than the HT body, though overall the HT body was a bit better quality. I happened to have both a SSC Jawa and HT Jawa stripped completely at the same time so got to compare the bodies side-by-side.

However my SSC Jawas were bought later (like a year or so after they initially shipped so it's possible they were a "V2.") Interestingly, my HT Jawa body had a slightly floppy arm, and I seem to recall someone else on here saying they had the same thing.

Overall I'd give the SSC Jawa 8/10 and the HT Jawa a 7/10 overall. The hood seam is the major downside of the SSC Jawa, but the HT Jawa has a whole list of problems starting with the robe color. For realism the SSC blows the HT Jawa away, even though the SSC color isn't quite right either (but is WAY closer.)

What that suggests about the HT Tusken is anyone's guess I suppose.

What that suggests is that we wait and see.

The only thing that is really sticking out like a sore thumb on the HT proto is how clean and perfect the robe and long outfit is. It really sticks out. Yes, it could be mussed up bit once we get it, but it's an old worn out song in here but...for $250+ for a single figure, it should come as shelf-ready and great "as is" as possible.

At least the SSC one look pretty mussed up (appropriately so) right from the box.

So glad I bought this one when it was available. The Hot Toys version looks like Ru Paul broke into Skywalker Ranch and got a bit creative.

SS's Tuskins are clearly from the wrong side of the tracks. Down, dirty and nasty raiders. Hot Toys efforts are prep boys ready to hit the country club for a round of golf. Know which I'd prefer in my collection.

Please share shots of those tweaks and that third one!

Just finished working on these guys tonight.

Let's face it Chakaman's Tuskins are the best...if you ever decide to part with one of these please message me! These are down and dirty 'Raiders, takin' shots at the Pod Racers, smashing golden droids, strippn' down 'speeders, smackin' around 'Farm-Boy Raiders. They are perfect!:yess:
