I think the original Predator completely blew expectations out of the water. Kind of like the original Terminator, a 'B' grade movie that no one making it would ever imagine it becoming an icon in the film industry.

Both of these movies (Along with Alien) had three very important factors in common which probably secured that success. If not initially so much, but certainly in long term cult followings.

1: Fu**ing awesome creature design! As in the best in cinema history.

2: Directors that really knew what they were doing.

3: Amazing soundtracks and sound design.

Lose even one of those and those movies become instantly forgettable. If Stan Winston hadn't come onboard Predator last minute and saved the day, many of us probably wouldn't even be in this hobby now.... And we'd all be much wealthier. :lol

I've been looking at this Jungle Hunter for a while and as impressive as it is, I really wish it was a bit more vertical...it'll be a killer piece and auto buy if it stood up more. Still deciding, so frustrating lol

I actually agree, I'm pretty sure that was one of my first comments upon seeing this. That and the pose is almost exactly the same as their other big game comic predator. I would rather a taller, more imposing pose. But this one really isn't bad at at, it works just fine and has grown on me. Plus I'm pretty sure that they had to replicate the pose from the original artwork in order to try and pass this obvious Jungle hunter off as comic version. Nobody suspects a thing now.... :wave

Man I can't wait to see this monster statue in person!

That's what's frustrating me lol, as every other detail looks very well done. It does look lively and some angles look amazing. It's hard to gauge exactly how big and imposing the predator will be with this piece, think this is what concerns me, looking a tad smaller and less intimidating when crouched. Can't wait to see in hand pics and videos of this to see if the pose affects the size too much.

100% agree, no other creature is as awesome as these three, and I'm sure none for at least a century. They ooze so much charisma, whether be the hero or villian, you still absolutely love them. I'll never get tired of admiring these amazing creations.

What are your thoughts on the 1/4 scale fugitive predator from Prime 1?

I think it's a beautiful piece and it's great it has a ton of display options. Fugitive Pred sort of bumped out Scar from my Top 3 Pred designs. So I have Wolf as 1, Jungle Hunter at 2, and Fugitive at 3.

But still, while I have no problem paying P1 prices for this Big Game(P1) or when they eventually do Wolf, Fugitive Pred is kind of a hard sell for me just because he didn't really do anything memorable.

I think if you place this just a tad above eye level, than it would look real good maybe. Imposing. Size wise I think i will be the same as their 1/3 Deathstroke size. I have that one and place above eye level and it is great. Eye level, not so.

Tough decision. I'll wait until hand in pics and collectors start displaying it around the house to get a good feel on size. Better not sell out lol

It wont sell out until it gets an ES number at least. The City Hunter finally had one assigned recently, a surprisingly small one. I imagine this will be higher and probably won't sell out until after shipping regardless simply due to the high price (DX anyway)

The thing I dislike about the fugitive (besides the movie sucking ass) is he's a gentle reboot of the original. Much like Scar. There's so many possibilities with the creature to make cool designs (P2, Wolf) and yet they try to stick to the original and somehow make it worse every time.

Can?t believe there?s about to be a 5th Predator movie happening. I feel like my Pre Order for this makes me ok with another movie in the franchise.

Weird how that works:lol

They should just leave the franchise alone. The Predator is proof they don?t know what to do with the franchise.

What was the ES on the City Hunter? I was toying with the idea of cancelling and putting the funds towards the Jungle Hunter.

350 EX
400 Reg.

I ended up ordering both the Jungle & City Hunters direct, I like them both a lot and haven't really bought much in years. I think the Coolprops Gigers Alien head is the last piece I bought.

Hey guys,

Beginning collector here. Just started last year later in life and bought SS PF Jason Voorhees, Hexhill life size zombie bust and AVP Requiem Wolf Predator. The Jason and Wolf Predator were bought second hand. The AVP was bought from a huge horror collector on this site and its awesome IMO. My other stuff is primarily custom commissions (Candyman Hook Life Size) and Custom figure from the movie Terrifier (Art the Clown).

I?m venturing into more expensive pieces, SLOWLY lol so my wife does not make me sleep with my pieces. :) I really like the Coolprops Alien Warrior Ressurection and I?m on the waitlist for that. I also love love this P1 Jungle Hunter but SS doesn?t carry it. Are there other places that carry it that offer flex pay like SS? SS also has Affirm linked with it, which is not the BEST % interest - around 15% but minimal overpayment if paid off in 6 months. Are there any other places that you can spread out your payment on this Jungle Hunter?

It took a few discussions for my wife to finally understand that while these pieces are COOL AS HELL to collect and display, they are also investments to a certain extent...most will retain value if properly cared for.

Still....anyone else?s wife walk into their collection room and go ?what the hell bro??

:lol:lol

SecretCompass has a $450-550 deposit depending on which version you order. They'll email you when it's in stock so you can send the rest, but I believe you can also contact them and let them know whenever you'd like to send a partial payment.

Oh damn, that is quite low, thanks. I'll probably keep it now then. PCS announced not long ago that their 1/4 myers had I think 4,000 reg and 2,000 exclusive or something stupid like that. Maybe 4,000 total actually. It puts me right off when the ES is so high.
