A bad statue from another abortion of creature design from a woeful movie.

There is absolutely nothing appealing about this piece. I don’t mind the xenomorph design, this piece just executed it absolutely terribly. From the pose to the apparent quality of the piece it looks bad.

Oh dear, that looks pretty bad. And those seam lines on the shoulders are atrocious....

Loved the movie but this is a no-go for me....the overall quality is very poor and my goodness look at the seam between the dome and the upper lip...

Have to agree with the above comments. Paint app is McFarlane toy standard and the seams/gaps are very obvious. Detail looks very soft too. Hopefully some examples might come out better, but right now it's not looking good.

Frankly mine came out very well, and the detail is very sharp. Of course the paint is not a mater paint up, but given the company's past efforts, I am quite happy with how this came out. What I am extremely annoyed about is the fact that this came without an art box

Here's some photos of mine. The sculpt could be sharper below the neck, and the paint job would be improved by a black wash all over, but overall I am happy with the statue. The paint and sculpt detail on the head and neck is very good. I've included some photos with the scale SS Big Chap maquette for size comparison (1/3 scale versus the Covenant xeno at 1/4 scale). I really like the lean and lithe outline of the Covenant xeno, which I tried to show with my crude Photoshop from the rear. It's not Prime 1 quality, but I still feel like I got my $800 worth. Your mileage may vary.

Man those pics are awesome and have absolutely swayed me to getting this guy. I know some people don't like the design in the film but I definitely do appreciate it. The size of the statue is very impressive too and I can't wait to get mine.

I am still undecided, if I like or dislike the design of the Covenant creature. But this statue does look impressive and thanks allot for sharing these pictures. I just wish Prime1 would do that one, as they surely would make a more impressive pose and the paint job would be mind blowing. Same would go for a nice base, like the cockpit situation of the cargo lander. Hopefully there?s still hope.

I ordered one from SSC. The images on Sideshow's site look better than the in-hand one's I've seen elsewhere. I'm wondering if they've improved the quality control on these now that SSC is distributing them...

They weren't improved. You're looking at professional prototype painting. Not the factory produced paint apps from in-hand pics. Never trust the prototype pics on a company's website. In hand pics from other collectors are your best bet. Even if the website uses production pics, they're hand picking the best ones.
