Been away from this for a while here’s my chevelle still running great and with its new wheels View attachment 464791
And the camaro which is coming along nicely...lots of modifications and work here’s a little sample View attachment 464792 View attachment 464793 View attachment 464794 View attachment 464795 View attachment 464796 View attachment 464797

Nice looking front end (and rear), reinforced K frame? I thought you mentioned a new chassis?.... RideTech coilovers! :yess:
How much power is that motor putting out? Looks great, post more pics and updates when you can.

Hopefully I'll get my Wilson intake and spacer, fiberglass hood and new hinges on by or before years end. And headers! EFI if I can swing it.... New bucket seats with a Schroth 4 point harness to keep me in my seat.

Hey porkchop! Thanks man! Yeah I decided on the full ridetech set up saved me some money over the epic roadstershop chassis. Stock sub frame I cleaned up and painted full ridetech a arms spindles coil overs sway bar and tru turn with Turn 1 steering box, welded subframe connectors, ridetech 4 link rear suspension (no more leaf spring season) Currie turn 9 rear alum third member 3.50 gears, rpm stage 6 t56 magnum, monster clutch, hydraulic clutch conversion, 4 point roll bar, Baer brakes front and rear, nitto nt01s 295 at all corners on 18x10 forgestars, custom aluminum core support, lots of carbon fiber body stuff, ricks tanks custom fuel tank twin ctsv fuel pumps, fic injectors, motor is Texas speed 408 built for boost, vortech ysi with a&a kit, air to air ic.....it’s not done yet so I don’t know the hp numbers but it’ll be an easy 900hp on pump gas :rock

For your ride I can not recommend fuel injection enough!!! It’s such a game changer

Yah, I :drool:drool over the Roadstershop and Art Morrison setups but they are super expensive. I will have done all I can do with T-bars and leaf springs (with the exception of putting in torque boxes and inner fender support, I have those parts but will install once I get bodywork done) using Hotchkis/Fox adjustable shocks. I really want the EFI, car runs great with the carb right now though so depending on funds or what direction I go it'll either be that or the tremec manual transmission for the next big upgrade. Then bodywork (minitub) and 18" wheels/ tires/brakes. If I focus and make it a priority I think I can get it all done in 24 months or less. I swear the cost of polystone now is making it easier for me to do just that.

That motor is going to be a monster, let me know how you like that 4 link, I been considering that too. Good luck with everything and again post pics and progress when you can.

Oh yeah I can’t wait to do some Smokey burnouts!!! I agree the cost of statues and figures (plus the fact I’m out of space) makes it way easier to spend on the cars! Honestly the roadster shop spec chassis is still an amazing deal but I’m sure the camaro will handle better than my driving ability anyway plus with all the power it’s basically a burnout machine. I’ll keep you updated and please post pics of your upgrades as well, love your ride! I’ve been thinking of going with a distributorless ignition for the chevelle and also swapping the 427bbc for a 598 or 632....I have problems :lol

:duff for sure man.

I'd say finish the Camaro fist before swapping the motor in the Chevelle... :lol. There are times when I think about swapping my 383 for an all-aluminum Hemi, I'm just as bad, lol. Just part of the hobby...

:rotfl yeah most car guys are sick and horsepower addicted....it’s just so easy to get used to. I agree I’m waiting until the camaro is done without a doubt. All aluminum Hemi you say? I support your decision :rock2

Crate engines make it "easier" and maybe a bit more stress free, I'd probably piece it together from the block on up. The block is about $5k, all said and done I'd say anywhere from $20k - $30k (quote possibly more). At least that way it's a bit more custom.

I think the hellephant is 30k but they?re sold out....it?s a crate but it?s a pretty custom crate engine and I think it has a warranty

Yeah I’ve considered dry sump but with modern oil pan technology I didn’t think it was necessary...I think baffles and trap doors are good enough.

I read it both ways, so I'm not sure...

Correction.

Dry sump is something that I've been mulling over for a while, had an oil issue early Sunday morning entering the 101 from the Hollywood Bowl on ramp. I'm the meantime I'll be switching to one of these (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g2339) so hopefully things work out.

I have a windage tray but with two gaskets and there is some seepage, not a lot but I'd like to seal it up completely. Running a Milodon now, not that particular style but would have to consider that as a possibility. Once I get it sorted out I'll have a better idea what happened cuz right now I have 0 oil pressure.

Zero!!!??? :horror like at all times or just under hard acceleration? You run 2 gaskets? I highly recommended going to a Toyota dealership and purchasing their black silicone, it is hands down the best silicone available. You run a mechanical oil psi gauge or electric? Sorry to hear about your oil problems man

Yah, 0 so I need to figure out what's up. I have the Milodon stock replacement with a windage tray and haven't had any issues until now. And I've been driving through the canyons to Malibu and back. Maybe that road race pan would help. I was at a stop, then going uphill flooring it when I had an issue. Mechanical psi.

I'll get this solved, new headers, intake and carb spacer hopefully in the next month or so and be back on the road. Post info of the Camaro when you can. :duff
