Referring back to the chameleon quality of TOTS' accessory pack '78 coveralls, there was a discussion about Nanjin's upcoming EXO-6 The Motion Picture Kirk uniform.

Nanjin chose the prop accurate "loden green", whereas in some scenes in the film the uniform just appears to be grey.

With the the 1/6 uniform Nanjin wrote:

Tungsten light will make it grey, and it is usually grey after sun down.

It was the same with his Original Series Kirk. The gold command shirt changes from yellow to green in certain lighting, just like the real thing.

TOTS accessory coveralls are still a curious thing. So hard to pin their 'true' colour down. It ranges from blue-grey through grey to green-grey. With the flick of a switch (the ceiling light as opposed to just the wall light) they becomes an almost perfect match for Tex green.

A neat effect, yet so dependent on just the right position and light source.

I ended up swapping out the body and boots. Overall really happy with this figure. For $100 this is one of the best cheaper figures I’ve bought. The coveralls aren’t quite that greenish gray like in the movie but these will do.

I found a pair of Dutch boots on ebay and picked them up. I think swapping the boots elevates the figure so much!

Is the accessory kit updated without the head being glued to the sheet itself or does it remain the same factory defect?

I'm sure they have not sold through the initial run. Since the talk about this has died down there will be no fixed run.

So glad Paypal gave me money back on that set. What a huge let down after waiting so long for it.

Seriously guys, if you can find the sideshow sheet and blank head, go for that. Only thing you see on that ghostbob in my pic from tots is the glasses. No matter what you do to the tots sheet, it’s ****.

I got a replacement sent out to me and it still had the sheet lacquered to the sculpt.
Wow... You know normally companies get a complete production sample before the actual run. I bet they only got them in pieces and no thought the factory would go glue happy on the head. I'm confident it was only supposed to be on the top and not the face. Its easy (but painful) to discover these oversights once the factory has started. Its amazing how literal factories are with interpreting direction without applying any common sense.

Am I crazy, or do the people that sell these ******* things not know how to pose them?!?

These are fresh out of the box and will be modified later, but damn!

Puff the shoulders, stand them right and you got something going on...
