Been unemployed unfortunately, sold off most my collection. But pricks are pricks on this forum.

Yep. Don't you dare be new to a fandom, or be unable to drop hundreds of dollars on every single figure you might want at the drop of a hat. And you're definitely not allowed to be disappointed when something's outside your price range.

It's a very serious thing, this whole collecting business. :lol

This figure is still available on animextreme for $399.95 CAD

(I think they only ship within Canada at the moment tho. I've purchased from them before, they're reliable)

Have you ever tried Toy Square (Markham, Ontario)? Eric runs the store and I find his prices to be fair. I was able to buy some Death Troopers for $230.00 USD, which converts to (with HST added) $339.00 CAD.

Mind you I was able to pick them up from the store, hence, no shipping/delivery fees.

TA had them for $30 I believe. I picked one up for my Shadow Trooper who I have with this Death Trooper. That way both have the same guns which are very cool looking. Will be harder to find now that this is sold out and waitlisted.

Yeah, I never make the TA dump in time unfortunately.

And yes, it will be harder.

Im not talking about people that are having money issues or are new to the hobby.

Im talking about the people that wanted a reissue and then when it comes they dont even want it until its gone. As well as the people that have had every opportunity to buy it but suddenly only want it cause they cant have it. Happens every time without fail.

FOMO is a strange beast.

But I agree, if someone had the opportunity to get it and they waited, there's little room for complaint there. Very few Hot Toys Star Wars figures (not counting ST) stick around for long.

I don't understand that, when it's all based on pre-order numbers and what Sideshow thinks they will need extra ???

Heavy Mando would suggest otherwise.

Ok, let me rephrase - It appears that Hot Toys has gotten considerably closer to finding the magic formula for figure release numbers.

No longer do figures languish for a year after release. You have to admit that pre-ordering has become the norm now, just to make sure that you get one before they sell out. The added incentives of discounts and/or free shipping are helping to push more pre-orders.

In the past, I hardly ever pre-ordered a figure unless I thought it would be a hot seller and sell out quickly. Now I'm pre-ordering to make sure I have one reserved.

True. I do find that HT figures languish far less time on ebay and their prices do not drop as low as they used to.

With higher prices, HT has been able to lower their base edition size and now they are finding their sweet spot for most figures. Krennic and Gamora are examples. Sometimes they have saturated the market -- like Star-Lord v3 -- so a figure will last a while but the price doesn't drop as much as it used to. People are POing Scarlet Witch because they fear she will be made in few number. They are likely correct.

What's a base edition size ??

That's too bad, really wanted one. Was hoping to sell some stuff sooner to afford it. Not gonna pay the stupid mark up people are asking though. Oh well...

Were you able to find a deal for the Mando Deathtrooper Monochromicorne? They do look good with the Director.....

I?m tempted to get one more also. I like the look of this one over the specialist.

Great looking stand! The DT looks awesome with this. I like the color scheme, sculpted detail and the clear post is really effective... how it just disappears. I wish HT would put out something like this instead of the molded foot print version. The molded prints seem entirely unnecessary? Thanks for sharing Cocoboloboy!

Nice display Star What? They look nice free standing!

Thanks endo1. Yeah, seeing that the Deathtroopers and the Director don't have the same bases, I opted to do the free stance look. Hopefully over time, they do not weaken. Some of the pleather and rubber are of concern as always. Hopefully Hot Toys does go more for the ratcheting joints on all their figures. Take care.
