Has anyone started a thread about the new SUPER7 SilverHawks line? I tried looking but haven’t seen one. These look great so far.

I don’t own any Super 7 TMNT or Thundercats..how are these bodies because I want to get these SilverHawks

I like them, they've been saying since Day 1 not to expect vac metal so not to bothered by that. I'll probably be in for Wave 1 and be good though, I'll see what else I can remember from the show lol.

Looks nice I might get the whole team already committed to the S7 TC and it burns a hole in the pocket

I'll definitely get them, the proto looks really good so far... really close to the cartoon more than the original figures.

Looking good. I too wish they had used the chrome look but understand why they wouldn’t. Still getting them regardless.

My understanding is that these are all new male bucks, i don't know about female, so it's hard to comment on them. I only own the first wave of Tcats, but the quality of the plastic is good, they have some weight to them. The biggest negative is the limited elbow and knee articulation.
They said they can't make the metallic paint or vac metal work. I think they would have if they were able. A lot of negative feedback over it.

They did the vac metal for their He-Ro figure after they faced a ton of backlash over the matte painted prototype they showed off. And it was really well done. They can make it work, they’re just being cheap.

Haha, don't think that they're lying to consumers to be cheap.
They COULD do it from what i've seen, and it might be cheaper for them. They said the problem is the friction on the articulation. So I looked up the old chrome toy biz deluxe silver surfer, the only other entirely plated figure I can think of that has more than five points of articulation. It's all either pin/hinge or cut joints - including the shoulders. They could do silverhawks the same as that figure, but then we'd get a cut joint at the neck that they couldn't "look up" when flying, and they wouldn't have ball joints at the shoulders or hips - hinged instead. There's only two choices: plated with 80's-90's articulation, or not plated with modern articulation.
Marvel Legends casts their silver figures is a sort of metallic plastic that always includes swirls of color - like their silver samurai or iceman figures. I wouldn't even want the 'hawks done like that, it didn't work well for a smooth sculpt like iceman's. All modern silver surfers have been painted with a silver-ish paint. I just can't find a modern figure that has plating or true metallic paint on ball joints - which would prove to me they're being forth-coming.

Practically every single thing they make in Ultimates now use all new molds/bodies etc. Even if they're in that style like the Conan figures, they're all new molds, so everything here is all new.

It's not about the price, as ridetofight said, they're making figures with good articulation, and it just doesn't work all vac metal. At the very least, every joint piece would have to be painted and not vac metal. I'm sure they'll do Reaction variants vac metal, but not the Ultimates.

I'm glad Super 7 is giving us figures from a somewhat obscure franchise (relative to Thundercats, TMNT, etc).

Nostalgia overload - I had some of these figures as a kid and the cartoon always had a fond place in my heart.

I get they're going more for the cartoon look rather than the original toy chrome - but I do wish chrome was an option - curious to see what they would look like in modern day form.

Next wave of Silverhawks.

I’m picking these up, but I’m trying to be selective outside the main characters since Super 7 charges an arm and leg for each figure.

Glad Super 7 is making cartoon accurate figures. That’s why I’m also collecting their GI Joe, Thundercats and Animaniacs lines.

i was also impressed with the shiny Silverhawks figures from Ramen - but taking a wait and see approach since they only announced 2 figures thus far and are even more expensive than Super 7.

Anyone seen this? Got it off Facebook.

Looks like you got your wish. Toy versions are the next wave.
