Watched the episode, dozed off a couple of times after the

WBW bit. I thought the flashes of Vader overlaid on Anakin were well done, and enjoyed the dueling. The live action CW stuff looked even more goofy than it did in the cartoons regarding the complete lack of military strategy.

I only watched the stuff with Hayden. He was really good. I never watched the cartoons so I really don't "get" Ahsoka's whole deal as a character. From the TV show her deal seems to be standing around with her arms crossed.

As soon as the green lady and her goonie kid showed up, I turned it off. I always said I was only watching the scenes with cameos.

I just wish Filoni would have done Sith Anakin'eyes more yellowish like George portrayed them in the Revenge of The Sith..that would be perfect though.

Ahsoka never saw him that way though so I'm fine with evil Anakin appearing as she would have imagined him.

Yeah in my initial review I criticized the casting of young Ahsoka for reminding me too much of young Gamora and Buffinator was all "dude that WAS her," lol.

When I watched it again I warmed to her take on the character though.

I did think it was a little heavy when it was revealed that her constant bickering made him start to resent all youngling Jedi.

Ugh, kidding aside the real PT is so lame compared to this. It'll take many years of watching only this episode and never revisiting the PT for it to fully replace it, lol.

I don't find the show all bad, but I'm watching for the spectacle rather than the story because Filoni does little for me, and I find the writing weak. Also felt the absence of Baylan and Shin in this episode, who really add to the spectacle

Filoni relying on fan service this early is a patch over for having to cover new ground. It's interesting in that the narrative mechanics moves more like Fallout 3 than Rebels.

That being said, I'm happy for the people, the hard core Rebels and Clone Wars folks who got some nice rewards with the fan service. And, of course, the toys potential helps them too. If Avengers Endgame had a 2 second cameo of Snipes as Blade I, just enough to make a figure, I'd be as ecstatic as some people here now. It appears any episode with a starfighter dogfight just puts people at ease. It's the safe well to draw on when the story needs a shot in the arm. Which lends to question on what could have been had Patty Jenkins not self destructed and lost not just Wonder Woman as a franchise, but her Star Wars projects to boot.

I can see how the hard push into merchandising impacting the scripts would drive some non figure collectors crazy. But we're figure collectors here, so some here get to reap into that bonus round.

I'll miss Ray Stevenson. When I see Baylan, I see a more grizzled and wiser Titus Pullo.

Finally got around to starting this show. I wanted to finish up "Twisted Metal" first, I prefer not to follow 2 streaming shows simultaneously. I may ruffle a few feathers, but his is just my take on the show. Also know I haven't watched "Rebels." I watched the first episode, and already it's my favorite Star Wars show next to the first 2 seasons of The Mandalorian. It looks to be better than Mando season 3, "Obi-Wan Kenobi", and Book of Boba Fett. It also looks like it will blow Andor out of the water based on the first episode. A few scenes seemed similar to scenes in The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, and Rogue One. I also got a "Top Gun" vibe from the scene with Sabine on the speeder bike, and her jacket reminds me of a bomber. I already like Sabine, and I'm intrigued by Baylan and Shin. I am actually interested in the characters.
Another detail I noticed is the lightsaber ignition sounds seem more accurate. In the Kenobi show and sequels, the light side lightsabers sounded like dark side ones when lit up.
