Super Freak
Harley Quinn and I go way back. I remember well the first time her character was introduced to the world of afternoon television in BTAS episode, “The Joker's Favor.” I was 14 years-old and I've loved Miss Quinzel ever since.
Over the decades Harley has gone through many changes with several versions of her character, but for my money she'll always remain that bubbly, fearless psychopath, who, until her dying breath, is only dedicated to one thing: the love of a madman. My favorite post-BTAS version of Harley comes with the Arkham line of video games by Rocksteady Studios, culminating with Batman Arkham Knight in 2015. Instead of being on the possible road to rehabilitation, Harley takes a darker turn as she survives the Joker only to remain the queen of his legacy in Gotham's criminal underworld. Unlike her former beau and boss, however, Harley isn't a total wild card, and Batman usually doesn't have too much trouble keeping her and her gang in check. In fact, the Dark Knight usually only pursues Quinn for information. After all, she's a Gotham Siren, and has forged life-long alliances with the likes of Poison Ivy and even Catwoman. Although Harley's psychosis has deepened with age, somewhere beneath that hard, jawbreaker candy exterior remains a fun-loving heart.
I kitbashed this figure using SO many different sources (nine to be exact). I then made my own alterations and modifications, including making her “Gun-O-Fun” damn near from scratch.
Special thanks to Hydeous for the portrait paint job and Shane Poole for the intricate hairing straight from the video game.
