The mask on this piece is definitely not movie accurate and as many have stated, that's ok. It still looks great because I look at this more as a comic version, which it technically is, so I give the sculpt a pass with the too-much-texture. With that said, the rest of it is incredible and I would be proud to own this statue if 1) I had enough room for another 1/4 (1/3.5) sized Predator and 2) if the 1/3 scale more movie accurate Predator was never announced.

For those posting pics, well done. He's awesome looking. Excellent idea of adding the gloss clear coats as well. I may have to even do that on my unloved SS Maquette.

Here is some more work now the body as u see it does nothing to the netting. It’s looking pretty good. I’m tired

STILL... NO... TRACKING... lol sorry, gotta vent like a little *****. Anyway, ima make a final judgement when I get mine but I think this is one of the best full body Predator Statues on the market! However, Prime 1 definitely did a bait on switch on the skin. They had a crazy talented painter make the prototype look like actual skin! The way the black dots blend into the dark shading, the veins, etc. Just incredible. On the production piece that paint is replaced with straight up solid black decals onto of air brush shading. Now I think they did this to keep it more comic style, and not compete with themselves for the 1/3. Because a lot of ppl are getting both. If the 1/3 comes out with this type of paint work, I swear, I'll forever avoid prime 1 studio. Lmao.

I finally opened mine up. Everything seems good, but I did have a broken mandible on the open mouth (easy to glue back on). Overall this thing is badass, and you really get a lot for the money. It is taking me forever to get together though, especially with having to go over and display every option for the review. I'm probably 3 hours into this and still have more to go.

My one grip (so far) would be the skulls on the rock. You would have thought they would have had a magnet feature to hold them in place, but you just set them on the rock. Kinda dumb, especially when you have to worry about them falling off when dusting.

That's just pretty standard prototype to production paint as there will always be a step down. I think the paint work is well done overall and I wouldn't be complaining if I had this statue.

Looking great… are you just putting the coat on the Pred skin or his armor and helm also?
So I put a smoothing coat on the predator mask a very light gloss. The lightest I have. It makes it smooth. The stronger the gloss the more shinny as you see the armor is less shiny just very light coat on it. Just makes it smooth when it dries. So, the body and face has a different gloss to it. While the armor has just a mild smooth coat put over it. Doesn't do anything but make it smooth. Which in fact I was going for. Even on the material I put it on and it brought out the color more with out gloss. Because I have a smoothing vinyl. Two different products. So, ya I tried it out and it actually came out sick. it smooth the mask with out gloss.

Ya I didn't even put them out because of that. I mean I hear ya. They would just break.

Some videos, the damn light takes away the moist look, but I’m completely done now. Needs to dry. But it brings out the color in the base. The light really hits it and it makes everything look alive. Like we are in a jungle. I am done. I have done enough work on this. Way more than anticipated.

Got mine today and I am in love.

Pose is perfect and the sculpt is amazing.

No reason for me to think about getting the 1/3 version anymore.

Ya man, told you guys, its a great statue!! In person it has so much presents about it.

Love the home theater!! I live in a condo by the beach! SO its small. If I moved out of Southern California Huntington Beach I could get a mansion somewhere else LOL! But here my condo is worth 400 thousand. But your home theater is sick!!!! I still have my side show maquette next to it. I am going to sell it too. No need for it!
