Same here. I missed out on the epic HT Indiana back in the day. Crossing my fingers this one turns out ok.

Their Django figures turned out good. Hopefully this one will too.

I recently watched Raiders again for the first time in a while and my interest to own an Indy figure definitely increased. My collection wouldn't be complete without a Deckard and Indy with a great likeness.

Yeah I try and re-watch Raiders at least once a year, just to remember how epic it is. Will be interesting to see how the sculpt comes out for this fig.

Movies locked in a specific time period do tend to hold up longer.

But the film was also a marvel of modern filmmaking technique in its day, and that really makes it hold up even 40 years later... which is amazing.

Raiders is just timeless. I got to see it in the theater a few years back and was on the edge of my seat like I saw it for the first time. Stayed until the last of the credits rolled. I’ll snag this figure since I don’t have an Indy in the collection anymore but I sure hope HT revisits and updates it like they did Two Face. It’s long overdue.

Somehow I missed this. Interesting. It's a good price for a base Indy, although I don't think they should have used Hot Toys's jacket as the template--I always thought the collar especially didn't fit well. Not crazy about the sculpt they chose to steal, either! I might have considered it if it was a step up from the HT version, which I think there is definitely room for.

And I will reiterate that I think it's great that this other company is giving Indy a try. I hope others join in.

Still love Raiders best of all 4. The practical effects and dangerous "real" stunts they did set it apart even back then. I remember a big talking point was them saying how they were going back to the westerns and serials for inspiration on the stunts as well, that real people were being dragged behind stagecoaches, and jumping from horse to horse, etc. They should have played that up with Crystal Skull. And I hope they take that into account with the new Indy too.

I also think the Ark effects still hold up extremely well, and are better than all their successors too. I thought the effects of TOD were weak (terrible projected backgrounds like when they are sliding down the mountain in the raft, and terrible blue screen like Indy hanging off the cliffside and the water jetting out), and downright terrible in LC, which puzzled me even back when they first came out!

I'm curious to see how this set will look once released (if it gets that far; still not sure about Present Toys).

The original HT set definitely left alot to be desired, but it can be improved drastically with some TLC. I wonder how this one will compare.

I’m hoping this is a good base for customizing at the least since I sold my HT Indy long ago. I’m like Lu, I wish they would have chosen better templates for the sculpt and jacket than the HT figure which really fell short in those areas.

Yeah the HT Indy sculpt was a big let down, Hopefully I can swap it out with the PT head.

Yeah, that HT Indy was a real disappointment. It was exciting news when it was announced that HT would be making Indy! But alas, that damn eye system really pooped the bed. It was a so so sculpt to begin with and the eyes with the dark outline just made it worse. But even with its many shortcomings, the HT Indy is still a decent representation. I would be nice if someone out there went all out and made the ultimate Indy.

I'm trying to slim down my collection overall. As a matter of fact, I'm currently ebaying my German Indy, one that I swore I never would sell. KOTCS Indy is next on the chopping block. But I think I'll try and keep my HT Indy, and Sideshow's TOD and Raiders Indys.

I'm very tempted by this one because I don't want to put hundreds of dollars.
I'm not an Indie specialist, do you guys think it could be a good compromise ?
Thanks !

I don't know. The sculpt is pretty bad. Even the Hot Toys one, that a lot of people hate, is miles closer to Ford than this one.

I'm in the same boat and pre-ordered it.

It's risky, as we don't know for sure what the product quality is going to be. Hopefully we'll get some early review videos and can decide if to keep or cancel.

xoff, if you're not an "Indy specialist", then that implies you're not a super Indy fan. In which case I would say this is probably "good enough" if you don't want to shell out several hundreds of dollars for the original HT version.

If I was just now entering the world of 1:6 collecting, I think I, as a big Indy fan, would consider it. I know I wouldn't want to pay the crazy high prices the HT Indy is going for. Even the Sideshow versions seem to be going for over $200. This one seems like a reasonable price for a decent looking package. The real problem is if this company can be trusted to put out a product that is at least as good as the promo pictures. If it comes out as good as the photos are, I would probably be...satisfied.

I already have my custom Indy done yet I couldn't resist ordering this. For the money you're probably not going to find a cheaper, complete alternative assuming the quality is above Sideshows first release. That head will need replaced tho.

Yeah I'm sure I'll pick up extra parts later, but having absolutely nothing, this release will be a good start for me.

If it is indeed a recast of Inigos V3 I'd have to strongly disagree with you. But this obviously won't be as good nor will it have a pro paint up. But anything is miles better than the disappointment that is the DX05 IMG_20201231_103530_035.jpg
