Not sure if I’ve plugged it on this board yet…
I’m blogging about my 1/6 action figure hobby quest to kitbash the canon party for the Baldur’s Gate game (BG1) at onesixthbaldursgate.com. But…(!)
… It’s a kitbash project but with a broader aim. I’m trying to achieve good enough results with the kitbash to hopefully drum up interest among collectors, such that if a company was to pursue getting the license to make such a line they could have confidence that there’s a good market out there for the figures.
Yes, that larger goal is a total longshot! I do realize that. However if no company ever makes such a line, the blog will at least chronicle for other collectors a DIY resource to kitbash the characters. Hope that makes sense.
Anyway, especially if you‘re a fan of the BG games and would love to see a line of figures for them (provided that you appreciate the kitbash results I get as ‘proof of concept’)… or even if you‘re a non-BG player that just feels that the figures look cool in their own right… please support the blog and post comments here as I provide updates.
I’m making a video this weekend to display the body for the NPC Minsc with all his clothing and gear. I.e., the whole shebang including custom leather chest armor.
But for now here’s some quick photos of the pants (for a Persian soldier) and two-handed sword (Scottish Claymore) that arrived in the mail yesterday. (Note: before putting stuff away overnight I had the cape handy so I threw it in just to get a look at how it drapes. Boots are great third party knock-offs from the Assassin’s Creed line.)
And if you‘re wondering where the head sculpt is… I’m still trying to find someone to print the STL file for me! If you can recommend someone I‘d greatly appreciate it!
