I could have sworn that was you in the glasses & wearing your sister’s hand-me-downs at the end of the front row.

Your teacher rocking the porn stache explains so much lol…
:rotfl

I remember that teacher he looked like Chuck Norris’s cousin lol

I was the fat kid until EMS came calling…

My wife says all of my ass went to my chest lol

No but why does everything in the 70s have this brown tint to it lol. The teacher looks exactly like a 70s white guy at that time . 😂

Watched She-Hulk this morning before work and I thought it was really good. It reminded me of the Byrne run on her comic. :rock
Just finished it now. I liked it. A bit rushed, especially the end. But I am looking forward to where this goes.

I stayed up for an immediate watch as soon as it was available (easier for me, being on the West coast).

Not too bad. There was a lot from the trailers in this 1st episode, so that took the edge off a bit.

Maslany is PERFECT, an amazing actress that was perfectly cast . . . which almost makes up for how annoying Ruffalo is.

I thought the visual effects were very well-done (with the exception of Titania's dodgy flying leap across the courtroom that was also in the trailers).

Some editing seemed a bit jerky, the story jumped around a bit too fast in places, and some of the lines were a little cringey (others were laugh-out-loud funny even 3rd or 4th time round!), and I'm hoping things will settle down a bit as we progress.

Overall - pleased with this. I can't help thinking they should have dropped the 1st 3 episodes together as a better introduction. Still . . . roll-on next weeks episode :)

I enjoyed it too, just a really "fun" show. And I agree that Maslany is perfect both in human and hulk form.

I really like that they went pretty old school and gave us a super quick origin story like they would do back in the Bill Bixby days. "Jennifer Walters, driving with Bruce, crashes her car and gets bled on by Bruce, bam she's a Hulk now too", lol. I mean obviously it wasn't quite that fast but still pretty refreshing that they didn't waste unnecessary time building up her big transformation and just got right to the fun stuff.

The "Cap lost his virginity during the USO tour" gag was stupid of course (did the writers even watch TFA, lol) but eh, whatever.

Everything sounds good so far. Or, at the very least, faithful to the source material. All the comedy and the Sex and the City/Ally McBeal vibes are straight from the comic pages.

I watched this just now, mostly out of a lack of anything else to do.

It was fine.

It certainly doesn't deserve the vitriol it's getting from the usual "nerd outrage" circles.

I didn't need to see the same old Captain Marvel style "all men are creeps/rapists, and I'm a woman so I control myself soooooo much better than dumb-dumb men" stuff, but like I said before, I'm not the target audience for this show. I'm sure the target audience eats that stuff up.

Am I the only one that sees the similarity to "Teen Wolf?" Her friend tells her to "Hulk out" and she doesn't want to, but eventually the secret gets out and that'll be her "gimmick" for a while, but in the end she'll win the "big case" as herself, cause the real strength was in her all along? Hopefully it'll be more creative than that.

In the end, the first episode was what it's supposed to be: the TV equivalent of fast food. Eat/watch it and enjoy it, then forget about it immediately afterwards. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible, and it certainly wasn't "offensive." I think these nerd rage guys are clutching at straws this time.

The existing "tone" is non marketable to a large cross section of the existing MCU audience. For example, if Sideshow started making golf clubs, beyond collectibles, then told you that you were gutless for not loving golf, can't you see how that creates a problem?

If you have a comedy like this, where it keeps neutering an already neutered but beloved character like Hulk, you need to soak it in self deprecation.

Shoresy is a good example of this.

"It's gonna be you and me and a whole table of dim sum."

I think your analogy is quite off.

"action figures to golf clubs" does not equal "Avengers movies to She-Hulk TV show."

I'm not defending the soulless mega-corporation pre-emptively accusing fans of being "ists" and "phobes" before the show even airs......AGAIN. Disney sucks and I've been personally boycotting giving them money for years....not that one person matters in the slightest.

But on the other hand, there's an entire collective of middle-aged men that have seemingly made careers about whining about stuff on TV that they hate.

Like anything in life, I feel like some of that whining is justified and fair, but I also see a lot of it as whining for no reason other than to stay "on brand" and supply more clickbait.

I can fully understand why hardcore LOTR fans would feel upset about amazon's upcoming series, but I see no reason why they should care about things like Ms. Marvel or She-Hulk. Just don't watch.

(I also wouldn't lump Critical Drinker into this group...unlike the rest, he does remain objective and if he DOES like something, he gives it props. It's just telling that there's so little to like because Hollywood continues to churn out **** over and over again.)

As for Hulk's "neutering"...I didn't really see it that way at all after watching it. Did you watch it?
I personally thought Hulk came off as unfeeling and uncaring more than being "neutered." He RUINED his cousin's life in an instant. Just like that, her life as she knew it was over forever. Sure, it might have been an accident, but other than a very quick "hey sorry about that" he shows no compassion or understanding about the fact that he has completely destroyed this young woman's life and only shows concern about containing her powers, and nothing at all about the emotional ramifications of this event.

More bad writing for Bruce Banner. Not that that's anything new in the MCU...

I think saying that Banner was unfeeling and uncaring is taking the show a little too seriously. I mean you already acknowledged that it's basically a Teen Wolf style comedy and we already know in advance that her transformation doesn't ruin her life so there wouldn't be any sense in making it this big melodramatic thing.

I mean when you think about it Banner himself just experienced a car accident that injured him without causing him to transform. What if the same thing happened with the saw blades and Jennifer? Oops, that could have gotten messy, lol.

As for him being neutered I agree that he wasn't. If you didn't like Smart Hulk before then this show probably isn't going to change that but I don't see how anyone could accuse this show itself as neutering him. I mean just the one scene of him throwing the giant boulder into space was more impressive than anything he did in IW or EG so at least he's going in the right direction, lol.

Plus we saw in TIH that the first time he did "the clap" he nailed it causing a shockwave to extinguish the flames and save Liv Tyler's life. Jennifer didn't have the same luck and had to practice multiple times before getting her clap to work. Isn't that what the crying YouTubers are always complaining about? Women who are instant experts at the expense of men? Well this show did the opposite so credit where credit is due.

And anyone who doesn't like that she kept her personality and intelligence while in Hulk form can go back to 1980 and complain to Stan Lee I guess. :dunno

I do think this is consistent to MCU Bruce though. Of all the incidents concerning the Hulk, he feels "sorry" for it, but he never really addresses them doesn't he? He just works on "fixing" or "containing the issue" to prevent future problems from happening again rather than dealing with the repercussions of what he had done. And he's applying the same thing to Jen here.

I do think that Jen's influence here will eventually make the MCU Bruce character to grow too. Currently, he hasn't had much growth throughout Phase 1-4. I think seeing how his cousin deals with the "Hulk" persona will help him get to gripes with his own Hulk.

I enjoyed the show. I love She Hulk since the OG comics back in the day and the actress casting was a great choice. This is definitely something I can watch. I’m over the Bruce story… so give me she hulk I’m ready. I hope we can get a good figure of her they did good with the CGI IMO.
