Your reply has nothing to do with what I said. I said that any time a Disney Lucasfilm movie has been disliked by the critics, there hasn't been one where the audience liked it too, unlike say Super Mario Bros, which is hated by critics, but loved by audience.

I also said that the Lucasfilm track record since Disney and Kennedy took over has been abysmal. It doesn't matter what it was like beforehand, and mentioning movies that have nothing to do with Disney is a weak argument, especially when your examples are terrible. Willow has an IMDb score of 7.2/10 and Revenge of the Sith a score of 7.6/10 - hardly terrible. I don't like TPM or AOTC, but many do, but both are better than most of Disney Star Wars. Obviously, Howard the Duck is terrible, but every studio has duds.

Lucas led Lucasfilm created a company with several beloved franchises, billions made in merchandising, and a company which Disney paid $4 billion for. Meanwhile the Disney/Kennedy led Lucasfilm has made critical and commercial flops, have seen their audience abandon them in droves, their merchandise rot on shelves (even when heavily discounted) and their starship hotel experience close after a year. The Lucasfilm brand has been significantly diminished since Disney took over.

Yea you are right. Star Wars was unstoppable juggernaut and after the purchase it’s far from what it use to be and nowhere near the quality

Hi there. Just stoping in to say revenge of the sith is pretty much on everyone’s top 5 Star Wars films. Especially during this era. It’s pretty much iconic. Ok I’ll be taking my leave

Well that's what's always been so frustrating about it. He needlessly crammed the final film in a trilogy with so much of the important stuff and as a result no one thing got sufficient coverage. Plus it shares all the same annoyances as the previous two films like terrible dialogue and wooden acting. It cemented the overall poor execution of the trilogy rather than improving anything.

And I just know someone is going to come at me with 'the acting and dialogue in the OT was just as ba-' - let me stop you there. No it wasn't. Not like the PT. Absolutely no one in the OT was wooden. Mark Hamill may have overacted at times but he delivered every line with enthusiasm and not like he was reading off a prompter in front of him.

It’s not that I want these movies to fail. I would much prefer to enjoy these franchises. But since they are going sideways, it is fascinating to see how Disney and Lucasfilm will pivot to rectify. Thus far it’s full steam ahead for whatever reason.

Does anyone feel like the summer movie schedule of 2023 is shaping up to be one of those good old fashioned summer blockbuster list of films to get people back in the theaters

It feels like Hollywood is bouncing back for the last two summers which were horrible because of the Pandemic aftermath

So many films that look great this summer including Indy

Combine TGM, The Batman and Avatar 2 together with JW4, GOTG3 and The Flash into just ONE SUMMER then we would be talking about 1980’s level of epic summer blockbusters.

Imagine those 6 movies back to back.

I guess you are right…two of those releases were delayed due to the Pandemic . I believe both Avatar 2 and The Batman were supposed to originally be summer releases

I can't disagree with this, although I can come up with a competent top 5:

1. ESB (great)
2. SW (great)
3. ROTJ (very good)
4. ROTS (very good)
5. RO (good)

Everything else is pretty much hot garbage when it comes to movies and the TV shows. Mando S1 and S2 were 'very good', and I'm glad I haven't seen S3 and never will. I'd like to watch Andor one day, but I doubt I could be bothered.

Biggest issue of Crystal Skull to me was that it didn't match up with the other movies visually. It was too polished and cgi looking. The fridge escape was no worse than the raft escape in Temple of Doom. I have found really enjoyable parts in all Indy movies but overall nothing comes close to the perfection of Raiders. I will see the new one and I am sure there will be parts I like as well. I have gotten the posters for all of the movies and I like the newest poster for this one as well. It is nice to see artwork on a poster again.
