Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman [QS001] - Full Reveal & Specs

The QS001 still feels too elongated when I look at mine but obviously that's far from scientific lol. The Bruce Wayne head is quite a bit wider so how does he fit inside that cowl?

This got me curious so I got my calipers out, added some tape over the sharp pokey metal, zeroed them out, and tested it.

Bale sculpt is ~35mm at the cheek bones, cowled heads are ~35.8mm measured at the same place.

PSA that shortening the nose on this makes a huge difference. If done carefully you can pool up some black paint on the underside and it dries even with no need to refinish the whole cowl.

Do you accept relative small commission work? Like a custom black mouth plate and glowing eyes (glow in the dark). Have been following you on IG for a while. Awesome stuff.

I have been thinking of doing the mouth guard already and have some designs in mind. I want to try to make it look like it’s functional, I am thinking it would have rearward facing inlets that would follow the contour below the cheek bone and then a small outlet near the chin. Similar setup to a real N95 respirator but high tech and sleek.

I could probably design and 3D print eyes of some sort whether they be lenses or pop in eye ball replacements.

Personally I would go for the pop in, seeing as the light up eyes already go with the reissue. Maybe a pop in with painted contact lenses where his eyes would be?

That's absolutely incredible. It just fits with the overall look of this armor.
The general idea is the same I had, with a sharp edge in the front to keep the sharp contour of the nose in line. You even added those outlets, which is giving the mask an extra story. It could give him a tactical advantage during a gas attack, it could contain oxygen for under water situations.

Maybe an idea, move the center part of the outlet to right under his chin, instead of in front of it. And keep the side outlets in the same position.

I will always be a simp for white eyes, but it does seem like an unnecessary addition if you have the light up eyes. This one does look more menacing. If you had these 2 items for sale right now, I would probably get both, because why not?

That looks slick! Plus it looks in-keeping with the motif from the movie/design.

kind of wish the QS019 is coming out this year.. Id replace my unopened QS001 with it. Have it for 2-3 years and waiting until I live alone with no roommates to display it (hoping for next summer).

edit: I did have an opened QS001 before, but sold it eventually and purchased an unopened one lol... I was new to collecting and didnt understand how important it is to place the figure in the right environment.

I’ve got the queen studios ledger joker 1/4, now QS said about doing a bale 1/4 Batman, but this does have me tempted to pair the joker up

Easy to forget how much fun this figure is, it helps to have multiple so you don’t have to worry about damaging one

I did a simple glove mod on mine which makes the hands look way better scaled and more accurate to most scenes where the gauntlets go over the gloves.

Uh I have a mint regular and exclusive that I’ve only opened to inspect, and two display pieces one to “play” with and test capes and other products on and one to keep in my glass display. I also have one for sale that I decided not to hold onto

The multiple display pieces happened because one broke and I didn’t know how to fix it but then was able to repair it to like new shortly after replacing it. The mint ones happened by accident because I kept eBay alerts on and they were a decent price.

Thats a 1:6 Mando in the background my 1:4 is currently getting a new armor paint job in my garage.

Even though I do like the included base, I also was looking for a different, more suitable base. Though I'm probably going to wait for the reissue's

Problem is even when I get the reissue I still need a new base for this figure. I have issue with diorama bases but wish they'd include a flat part for him to stand on or an extra standard base.

Absolutely agreed!

I'm probably going to leave the reissue figure in the box while I have my OG on the new base I suspect tracking down a parted out base is going to be very pricey.
