You have to pull them out and hover convert them to see if they are broken.
Oh, the ones I've seen the wheel was hanging down slightly even in the stowed position.

EDIT: Just checked them all. None are broken. Three turn over fine. One rear one, the wire is a bit tight by about 2-3mm and stops the wheel from folding completely.

Looks like you have a similar issue as my replacement. Luckily, opening up the wheel is straightforward and not hard to fix. Good luck! I’m glad everything else is good with yours. The panel gaps and door sticking out 1-2mm has been an eye sore for me.

Debating whether to keep my order...

In the meantime, how much clearance is there under the hood? Wondering if something like the smart switchbot device can do the automatic button presses to put it in the right mode once the power is on.

WIthout massive modification, there's no chance sorry.

Funny how hot toys has zero consideration for user friendly features.
It must be a given that a lot of people have their collection behind some sort of casing and large vehicles are likely to end up on the bottom or top of most shelving, which makes them less convenient to frequently access to turn lights on and off.
A remote or even a control panel attached to the usb power cable allowing for on/off and cycling through settings would obviously be far more convenient and is hardly new or complicated technology.

Hell, even having it so a power cycle alternates the lighting options or sticks to the same one would be enough. It's not asking much. The cheap LED spots from amazon even do that.

Added the white walls today. This was an absolute must for me.

Yeah I continue to be amazed at just how difficult HT makes it to activate and use their light up features. Whether it's having to crack open Iron Man armor, reach up sleeves, or open up hoods and panels. It's like they go out of their way to make it as annoying and inconvenient as possible. Lol

Was the application easy? I may.. do it.. May because my car will be in hover mode for like 100% of the time lol.
I did the decals on Marty this week. Using decal soften and warm water. The tyres by comparison are dead easy.
Clean the surface. Stick the decal to the tyre using tape. Shade over the area with a pencil and done.

Yeah, wish the '89 Batmobile had just had a switch underneath the back of the car. Having to take off the rear panel has always been a nuisance. You end up not bothering because to fully appreciate the lit-up car you obviously want to put the panel back on after you turn on the lights. But since you also don't want to wear out the batteries or the LEDs you're not gonna leave the lights on for very long so then you very soon have to remove the panel again to turn them off. Too much of a chore, like the Iron Men.

I think the problem is HT are a reasonably small group of core people and their specialist skills are sculpting and painting and definitely not electronics. And rather than go and get the best people in the field they save money and just stumble through it themselves.

I used a battery replacer for my Batmobile that has a really thin black cable from the fake batteries to a power socket. It allows you to turn on the lights via voice command and still have the back panel on.

To me this is inexcusable at this stage of the company’s time in the high market collectible game. NO EXCUSE HOT TOYS

…as if they read any of this lol…

Completely agree. If it came across I was creating excuses for them, I guess I was, but it is a common and terrible example of a company taking advantage of their customers.

Mine arrived on Friday and so far I'm in the 'no issues' with axel mechanism, electronics or missing glue group. I loosened up the rotation screws on the axles and hopefully that'll help. It definitely takes some force to pull out the wheels to convert to hover mode. I try to pull on the axles only, but it's nearly impossible to get them extended without some pressure or tugging on the wheels.

Was this stand used for a prior release? From the pictures I've seen along the way, I figured they clear parts were made in two sections/levels so you could either have it at a low hover or the higher angled hover. But I can't see how this would support the car:

And I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hover mode just fits in a Moducase Sixth110 case:

(I turned the wheels back in since I was getting ready to attach the extra pieces.)

I'm probably going to have it grounded unless they re-release the BTTF 2 future Doc and Marty.

I'm also attaching some more photos of the axels/wheels in case anyone's interested. It is pretty scary that it's not going to be a simple fix if anything breaks.

Yeah. The stand was from “the Bat” hence all the funny looking pegs at the end of it that look out of place. The shorter ones included are like you said for a lower mount of “the Bat” and Hot Toys kind of just rigged an additional piece to slap on to it. Lazy to be honest.
