Well, since Anovos wen belly-up, I thought it would be good to see what this new entity is offering, and how are they doing things.
Also, to see what is new, what was delivered, quality, etc.
I was excited to see the Luke's pilot helmet and pre-ordered one:

You wouldn’t rather get a Red Five helmet from RS Prop Masters? They’ve got a proven track record and there’s lineage. I have several of their X-Wing helmets and love them.

I think the Denuo Novo helmet might cost the same if not more after shipping and I just don’t see the value. No guarantees on if/when they ship, too.

Might just be bad photos but the helmet doesn’t look really great to me personally, especially head on. Really weird, flat shape. And no telling what the production version will look like. Not sure what exactly this helmet will be based on either.

The ANOVOS version was an inaccurate repaint of the Rogue One General Merrick helmet. But this doesn’t look like that.

I’ve seen some folks have gotten product from Denuo Novo, so at least they’re shipping. And their products are in stock at some retailers.

@D.R.37 took delivery of a Denuo Novo Shoretrooper helmet but the weathering was not done well. They fixed it up themselves nicely though.

I'm involved in some professional writing/sketching for the entertainment industry, so I try to only get licensed items, if and when available. Not a nut for accuracy, and find licensed replicas to be good enough for me.
Really like the weathering on this helmet. But also interested to see what others have, or waiting on from this company. Figured it would be easier if NN items had a dedicated thread to go to.
Have pics of the shore helmet?

Gotcha. Understandable then.

I have a number of licensed helmets as well, including the X-Wing helmet (the 3 EFX released). I just go with what I feel looks best to me and has the best lineage and story, licensed or unlicensed.

The weathering might look alright in the proto but I’m skeptical after the Shoretrooper helmet. They posted pictures in the 1:1 Helmets/ thread.

Post Your 1:1 Helmets and/or Props

Denuo Novo did deliver and in a timely manner. As @MyenShi mentioned the Shoretrooper helmet I received was excessively weathered - most of it was decent until the last step which was just HEAVY paint brush strokes . I removed them all and went back in with a lighter hand. It looks like a much cleaner version then advertised but much better than what I received.

I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt of just newbie in the paint department and will order their Death Trooper when released next year. Wish I could guarantee you a top notch job as these prop companies should deliver.

Please post when you receive or anyone else. I do hope mine was just one of their flukes.

That’s gracious of you, and they’re lucky you’re understanding and were able to fix it yourself.

But when they’re charging as much as they are for these helmets and picking up where ANOVOS left off, I feel their standards need to be higher.

Being a technically new company isn’t a sufficient excuse. It’s just not acceptable to send out something to customers that looks so amateurish when they want to be a high end brand.

And it’s not just the person that painted that. It’s also whoever trained them and okayed it during quality control. It’s a bit of a troubling precedent.

I had a paid and unfulfilled order for a Death Trooper Specialist helmet from ANOVOS which Denuo Novo said they will fulfill. I am grateful for that if they actually follow through. We’ll see how that goes.

Fair enough and I was like that as well where I just wanted licensed products. But I took a risk and went with non-licensed products and I couldn't be more happier. RS Props is definately worth while to check out if you change your mind. I have brought a few X-Wing helmets from them and the shape and paint work does look better IMO compared to Denuo Novo.
However, not here to change your mind as the main thing is that people are happy with their collection regardless of what anyone else thinks. At the same token if Nenuo Novo was to re-release a Kylo Ren helmet (fiberglass) I would be tempted :)

It seemed and was an easy fix. Been wanting this helmet for a couple years and i picked it up for $10 under retail after taxes and shipping which helped. But I agree that high-end collectibles should not leave the factory at that level craftsmanship.

Good to hear that you will be finally receiving the DT helmet. Hope the quality and finish will be good.

I have the anovos Kylo Ren helmet and it's really nice and all, regarding the weathering on there products these are marketed as/for costuming and not a prop replica as such, maybe that accounts for the detailing?
Unless the business model has changed I remember reading efx was the licensee for prop replicas and anovos were licence holder for costumes.

Denuo Novo is selling ANOVOS designed items at the same or higher prices. If D.R.37's example is not a fluke, then the severe drop in quality control is worrying.

It's true the EFX has been the replica license holder, but the lines have been blurred for a while now. EFX sells replicas, but Denuo Novo called their products replica costumes. I've seen Regal Robot also describe some of their products as replicas. Hasbro seems more careful with the marketing of their role play licensed items but some people still call them replicas. The word has lost a bit of meaning nowadays.

The only thing that really separated ANOVOS helmets from EFX - or previous prop license holder Master Replicas - was their inability to include anything that would make it a display piece out of the box like a plaque or stand with a Disney mandated exception for helmets sold at Galaxy's Edge.

Otherwise their products for the most part were close to or on par with EFX or Master Replicas standards in terms of paint and build quality. So Denuo Novo should meet those standards as well if they want to charge what they're asking, regardless of what the actual license is.

I have a little over a dozen ANOVOS helmets and still like the products, even though I'm upset about what the company did to customers during its death spiral. The ANOVOS Rey helmet blew me away in person, even when next to the EFX X-Wing helmets. Denuo Novo should be able to do the same type of work with the same license.

I don't know if it's just that NECA/Rubies II changed production sites or the staff, or if it's an indicator of cost cutting and shortcuts being taken. We'll see what happens.

They put up the plain P2 helmet a few weeks ago but if you look closely they very poorly photoshopped 501st stripes onto the same pictures just to have it up for preorder yesterday.

Little strange. Hopefully they can deliver on it.

Oh really? I just assumed they put them up at the same time, haven't checked the site since they put Jango up.

They have a sale going on, I'm a bit tempted.

Sign up for their newsletter. They’ve been pretty consistent with their sales and there’ll be more of them.

NECA/Rubies II has been handling DN fairly well and they took care of me on an ANOVOS order, but I’d still hold off from preordering.

Best to wait till something is actually shipping; you never know what’ll happen.
