Since there was just the one thread about the wanting the figure and it didn't say anything about spoilers in the title, I thought I would go ahead and post a spoiler thread so we can discuss it. Hope no one minds.

I don't have much to say except that it was a great movie. It is the best serious Bond movie. I loved the new emotional depth that they brought in. It's too bad OHMSS didn't come out more like this one. I do have a few negative points though.

I hope all the Craig movies aren't like this. I like the seriousness, but Bond is supposed to be tongue in cheek a little silly at times. Well to me it is anyways, that's why I like those movies more than other spy movies.

I like improbable gadgets (ie an ejector seat, a jet pack, a sniper rifle disguised as a camera) I don't like impossible ones (invisible cars, satellite WMD's made of diamonds). So I'd like some gadgets in the next one. Also I want Q back. I think he could have been in the scene when Bond gets the tracker injected in him, that could have been a nice little comic relief scene that wouldn't have messed the movie up IMO.

Finally my own personal pet peeve...I wish they made the pre-title sequence something of a flashback, this is how Bond become a 00. Then had the rest be set in modern times and take place after DAD. Yes, I know its stupid, but I can't help myself.

P.S. Best line: "Back then an agent would have had the decency to defect. Christ I miss the Cold War."

I was a little hesitant going in because I feared the movie would take itself too seriously, but I think there was just enough absurdity to give it the Bond feel. The construction site chase was ludicrous, but a lot of fun. Bond almost dying and then coming back to the poker table fresh as a daisy with a cheeky one-liner, which I absolutely loved.

The only thing that kinda bothered me was the interrogation scene. A bit too dark for a Bond movie imo, but I guess the days of shark tanks and laser beams have passed.

Craig was fantastic in the 007 role. He's right up there with Connery and Moore now for me as the top Bonds.

Casino Royale was one of those rare movie going experiences these days that was totally satisfying and even better than I was hoping for. The new era of Bond has begun. :007

I felt like I was watching Bond chase Spider-Man. How does a bombmaker learn to do all that stuff? :lol

Well, the ball breaking scene was from the book, so I think it is very appropriate for a Bond film as well as the Shark tank scene with Leiter from Live and Let Die (the scene appears in Licence to Kill in the film franchise). I am hoping the films series new direction will be less of the crazy one-liners, gadgets, etc. and be more like the Bond novels even they had their moments but nothing like Die Another Day which was horrible. So, here is too a new era of Bond films :007

just saw it lastnight man o man o man i loved it. I liked the seriousness in it but i could use some more tongue and cheeck in the next one. the one part i didnt much like is the opening song i love audio slave and the lead singer is awesome but for bond i didnt realy like it and i missed all the women dancing.

Like myself, I'm sure most people going in to see this movie will not have read the book and will only be familiar with the somewhat lighter tone of the previous films. I'm guessing the interrogation scene and probably the pre-title sequence are going to be shocking to those going in expecting typical Bond movie fare.

I absolutley loved the film.

I did miss the gadgets, Money Penny, Q, and the "smoothness" Bond is suppose to have but.....

This movie was about Bond becoming a "Double O".

I felt that the last line "Bond, James Bond" was completley appropriate because it told us that the character was now infact the James Bond that we all know and love.

The only thing I did not like was the extended love story while Bond was recovering from his wounds. I know the story was neccessary to Bonds character though. It felt long but the film makers did it to prove a point. (that Bond can't get too close to anyone)

I love the new direction. Sure I loved the gadgets and one-liners too, but they don't fit in with this Bond.

I thought the free running scene was amazing and set the tone for the film - "yes, we'll do some crazy stuff, but it's real - no CG stunts for this Bond."

I said it in the other thread - but I'm worried they can't live up to this film. OHMSS was so powerful because Bond fell in love. Same with this one. He can't fall so completely in every film.

i just saw it. great movie!!! even though i still dont think daniel craig has the james bond look, he did a great job pulling off the tough agent type. i also liked the direction of no more tongue in cheek jokes all the time. and no more crazy invisible cars or gadgets is good with me.

That's one thing I think the newer movies were losing touch with. Watching the opening of TSWLM was amazing when Bond went over the cliff and opened the Unioon Jack chute, and it was made all the better because you knew some crazy SOB actually did that and that if his ski got tangled in the chute he was SOL. Same in LALD when they spiral jumped the car across the broken bridge, and that it worked on the first try makes it even better. BTW, the scene when the Aston Martin rolls, they used a nitrogen cannon or something to make it do that and set a Guiness World Record for making it roll 7 times. Or was it 8?

One thing that caught me offguard was Le Chiffre's blind eye. I was convinced it was some sort of x-ray device that allowed him to see the other player's cards and the reason why he kept touching his temple. I guess it was just a plain ol' blind eye after all.

Was it a blind eye? I thought that it was simply a different colored eye since other Bond villains (in the older days at least) had some kind of physical abnormality. I just didn't get why the eye would bleed. It seemed to happen during times of high stress (which is why I expected it to be his "tell")

I assumed so because of the small scar he had there.

And because it was a different color. I wouldn't know any other reason he would have a blue eye, a scar, and then the other eye brown other than that eye being blind. I like the villian to have some physical feature that stands out. I think that is why Jaws is my favorite villian: 7' 2" and metal teeth.

I loved this movie. I was one of those that wasn't sure about Craig as Bond, but he did a fantasic job. I love the new brutality of Bond. Crashing through the wall was great :lol (although I think it could really be done since it was only the sheet rock and not a fully built wall). I wonder what will happen in the next one. I would kina like there to be a continuation and connection with these new films and not like a villian of the week story like in most of the Bonds. I think an organization like SPECTRE should be re-introduced. Perhaps that Elipsice or what ever it was is the new SPECTRE and Mr. White is working for/with them? BTW, Criag's "Bond, James Bond" was great as was his response to the shaken or stirred Martini :rotfl I think Craig will be around for a while. Probably at least as long as Bronsan, possibly more if they can crank them out faster and Craig wants to stay Bond.

I also liked them using the James Bond Theme for the end credits. It felt like they were saying that they're not going to forget what Bond is, they're just going to shake things up a bit.

I too would like to see SPECTRE or something similar in future films. I always thought that was one of the coolest aspects of the Connery movies, having that shadowy organization connecting the films together. It's what makes Connery's movies seem more epic.

I was pretty 'meh' about this one. I like Craig as Bond. I like Le Chiffre and the card game. I did not like the 10 other bad guys, and the plot seemed like it wasn't really nailed down very well, or else they had to trim out some important explanatory parts, as I got a little lost at times. Later on I'd be like "OoooOOOHHHhhh, that's what happened" - but at the time it was actually happening I had no clue except that it looked cool. Plot was much too complex - I miss the simplicity of the old Bonds. I guess I miss the Cold War too ;)

I HATED the love story. Absolutely did not believe it AT ALL. Maybe it was too rushed or something, or maybe it's because I really didn't like that actress. Not sure. But for something that important to the story, it didn't resonate with me, and it had me glancing at my watch multiple times. And the way it a played out was very predictable.

It was a fun time in the theater, and like I said I did enjoy Craig as Bond. But from what I've heard, maybe the actor should take a lesson from the movie about ego  3 1/2 out of 5 stars for me!

Could this perhaps have something to do with why there's no sign of a Daniel Craig Bond figure from Sideshow on the way? If not, then tell the Sideshow folks we need one. :D

Dusty, could you at least tell us if this is NOT a Sideshow figure and merely a custom or another company's product. You realize if you do not respond we will take it as "this is the Sideshow Craig Bond figure" right? :D The saying "Bond Voyage" to Brosnan and promoting Casion Royal is giving us the impression you guys are making one and if not please tell us flat out.

I saw it a couple of hours ago and it was fantastic!
The stunts which were a huge part of previous bond films that I thought got put to the way side in the more recent ones are definitely back. I didn't miss the tongue and cheek humor one bit, what humor was here worked quite well with the new tone. I liked the gadgets in previous Bond films, but here I didn't miss them at all. And the fight scenes were riveting.

Le Chiffre was definitely blind, his other eye was cataract.

The thing that stuck out a bit too much is that all the bad guys had some weird deformity, Le Chiffre and his eye, that Bomber and his face and body scaring, and the guy that was handed the briefcase with the blacked out eyeglass lens. It was a little too cartoonish for me.
Another problem I had was that I could see Vesper was a double agent a mile away after the torture sequence. Why else would they both be alive and not a hair was harmed on her?

And I still scratch my head with all the complaints about the invisible car in Die Another Day, I consider it just as absurd as Jaws's metal "jaws", so I don't have any problem with either. :dunno
