Their neglect of smaller properties has allowed the 3rd party companies to flourish through. Making figures HTs would never do. SooSoo has come along ways quality wise, that new AugToys company was a 3rd party company before picking up the Dune license legitimately and rebranding. The demand for Witcher figures will probably fuel more 3rd party releases.

HT’s prices will be unjustifiable soon and both Marvel and Star Wars are on a downward trajectory in popularity and quality (excluding Spider-Man who will always have the Midas touch) so they may need to switch things up in the near future.

I’m glad for the 3rd parties and official newcomers picking up all the licenses HT thinks are beneath them. Better prices, multiple head sculpts with actual, identifiable expressions, miles faster turnaround times, engagement with the collector community and continually rising quality. Other companies are just way more interesting to follow and collect from.

lol, Marvel and Star Wars are not “on a downward trajectory of popularity and quality”

They’re both as popular as ever, Hot Toys is making more Star Wars then they ever have and far better quality than before.

prices for everything is going up due to production and shipping costs, even 3rd party companies are charging way more (despite most using a generic $15 body) they’re just a few years away from hot toys prices anyway.

Are you sure?
There’s no way Star Wars is as popular as ever. It’s been on a decline of quality since Disney took over. Each sequel saga movie sucked more than the last resulting in potential merchandise from those properties being totally undesirable and scrapped, then Mandalorian saved the day which is why HT have absolutely pounded that show for figures, Bad Batch was fairly forgettable and now BOBF is getting worse with each episode.
If the current writing and direction is an indication of things to come then it’s not looking good.

Marvel is where the decline is more apparent and more sudden. Phase four is not going well- definitely not as well as the studio had projected.
The Infinity saga generation are losing interest because those heroes are either gone or are being deconstructed, replaced or sacrificed at the alter of identity politics.
It’s produced two of the least popular movies in the entire MCU and the least enjoyed series so far. Without Spider-Man, Phase 4 would be an outright failure.
The Marvel agenda and direction is also far more clear and doesn’t bode well for future quality content.

Someone posted this picture on Facebook a few days ago. It is said to come out in April.

Ugh, “…identity politics & the marvel agenda…”

I’m going to bow out of this conversation. We have differing opinions and that’s that.

The wolf’s looking great.

Fair enough, but there's no way this "White Wolf" figure is officially licensed. It's pretty easy to throw shade on Hot Toys when you don't have to pay a 15-20% royalty.

Figure looks great! Here's hoping they do other characters from the series!
Fingers crossed for Yennefer and season 2 Jaskier.

Well, people have been pounding the sand for over a decade about Hot Toys' immediate failure because of their prices. It still hasn't happened. I may not agree with how they're prioritizing their licenses, but they definitely have a market for their stuff. One-sixth collectors are also a negligible minority amongst the millions of fans for any famous franchise. So, the success or failure of a particular movie line may not accurately reflect how well the toys may sell.

No they are there on the promo images, the image your replying to is the prototype right before they posted the promo images, and it went up for preorder.

I'm really surprised we haven't seen any other third party Geralts in the time since this was announced. Especially when there are so many readily available Cavill sculpts out there. Seems like kind of a no-brainer figure to make, and there is certainly lots of room for improvement there.

Phenomenal, wow!! Will SS be carrying this? Unfortunately, I can only afford to collect 1/6 by using payment plans.
