Just received this daftoys bane set from tns.
It?s a look from the film I always wanted but could never track down the jacket. I thought it looked great but you never know what your actually going to get with these 3rd party sets and never having owned anything by daftoys I didn?t know what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised with the packaging, I was expecting a plastic bag.
The trousers look great and plenty baggie enough unlike the hot toys ones. The colour is different but I like it and the trouser colour does vary through the film. I have made my own in the past by dying army versions but the material is very heavy and doesn?t hang naturally. These feel very thin and should look a lot more natural on. The details are very good.
The jumper and DCS vest are well made and very nice quality.
The boots seem to be a direct copy of hot toys sculpt, I think I will probably re paint these as not sure about the colour but otherwise again very good.
Gloves are sculpted plastic but are nicely painted to look like leather
The head sculpt and jacket are what I was most worried about.
The head looks to be a copy of hot toys sculpt and is a lot better than I was expecting. The mouth piece isn?t as crisp and is missing some of the ribbed detail on the pipes but over all it?s very good and with a little paint touch up on the mask will look great. The skin tone and eyes I would say are of hot toys quality
The jacket is great and far better than expected. It?s a nice thin material that should look very natural on. It?s a nice imitation leather and a great colour. The body is nicely lined but the sleeves aren?t which should help with the wrinkling in the arms and achieving the ?boss? pose. I actually own the belstaff jacket that is used in the film and I am very impressed with this 1/6 version.
You also get the broken batman mask which doesn?t fit this look but is a nice extra, again looks like a direct copy of hot toys and they have added the rain drops effect which looks great.
It also came with a silky black bag which I didn?t know what it was for but I guess it?s to recreate the hostage plane scene. I?ll try it on and see, don?t know what else it could be?
I have the hot toys version with custom boots and trousers and I?m currently using a ttm20 body with it. Tomorrow I will strip it down and build 2 banes seeing which body fits best with each outfit. I will post some pictures when the?re done.
