I ended up buying a second Luxury Edition today 😂 I decided I wanted to try and do some custom work on the base and such. Also, anyone know where I could get a deer head mount? Either a custom one made to look like the movie or just a sixth scale one that I can modify myself. Thanks!
Sideshow still has this in stock. I'm kinda surprised!

Nothing off the top of my head. Have you checked Show Us Some ASH
Lots of dioramas and customs happening there👍

Just got the standard edition. I think it's a very fun figure, but I can understand feeling burned by certain aspects of it. The first two mods I did were using sticky tack to hold the chainsaw in place, and using off-white duct tape cut into thin strips to secure the right cuff and resemble the bandages peeking out. I'm considering ripping up the shirt because it's his more iconic look, but I've held off because A. I would love to get a separate shirt to do it with and B. I'm not sure what the underlying body looks like, and whether or not it would look good with the grime and scratches as well as what the arm that would be bare would look like.

I’m sure there’s various discussions about replacement bodies along this thread. As there’s a lot of pages I just don’t have the time to scroll through - 10 month old at home and all that good stuff.

So, with that in mind - could any of you fine folk recommend a suitable body to replace his current one? I have the standard version so seamless isn’t important, more skin tone and build I guess…

Thanks in advance peeps 🤙🏻

I went with a JX toys S01 body. It's got a good build closer to Ash's in film.

Ideal - thank you. That’s a good base body. Ordered 👍🏻
Cheers. Only thing that I can add that is an issue is the bodies right wrist is very soft plastic so it will get damaged when you pop the chainsaw on the peg as it's a bit of a tight fit meant for slimmer wrist. You can try to push the area of the wrist in with a flathead screwdriver but you might still damage it regardless.

So far I've done about half the mods I had planned for this figure (creating and weathering a bandage to affix the right sleeve in place, painting the erroneously brown section of the shotgun, painting the fingernails of the severed hand black, weathering the chainsaw) and I am planning to replace the body and paint it, cut up and weather a spare shirt, and eventually replace that eyesore of a harness.

But earlier to day I was watching my girlfriend play fortnite, and noticed that the Ash in that game constantly has smoke fuming out of his chainsaw. I thought that looked really dynamic, so I glued some teddy bear fluff to a small length of posable wire and spray painted it, then shoved it into the cuff so it wasn't permanent despite looking like it emitted from the correct place. I think it does a lot to make Ash pop out on the shelf, and it is really really easy to do

I bought the standard one back in June cause i wanted to see the actual figure in person despite all the negative reviews it had on the sculpt and likeness to Bruce Campbell and I personally like it way more than the sideshow one I had. I was lucky enough to find the luxury edition in Canada for an amazing price.

Nice!! That looks super dope! What body are you using for ash? The joints seem minimal and subtle. I like it.
Thank you!

This is the one you wanna use.

Also how did you do your blood on ash and Linda’s hair dye to the correct color?

I used this for blood and I just applied it carefully with a brush either by stroke or sort of "fanning" the bristles to get those small droplets.

I used pigment for Linda’s hair. I used a fanning brush to spread this on her hair and then sprayed those areas with isopropyl alcohol and it stayed. I got this information from this forum. I wish I could remember the member here but I don't. I give my thanks if that person sees this! Both these items can be found on ebay right now.
