Those guys seem to consistently look better than the Masterpiece and Fans Toys figures, in terms of cartoon accuracy. They just aren't in the scale I'm looking for.

They look good in bot mode, but once you start to transform them they literally fall apart. I had panels fall of, like on top of the shoulders and the head itself is also on a panel which comes off trying to exchange the face.

Then there are so many little, fiddly panels trying to peg the car together and overall it works, but if you check the video you'll see that the van doesn't peg together well. Panels have give to them, stick out and are just weirdly flexible.

Magic Square is not good. I have handled their Devastator: horrible. Unstable mess.
Newage Devi was able to hold him over his head.

Pretty much every figure by Newage I laid hands on has been a banger.
Magic Square, not so much.

That's too bad. There are pros and cons to just about anything you want to buy, and it looks like the negatives on these are pretty strong. But if you just want nice looking bots on the shelf in that scale, they might be worth getting.

The ideal world would be New Age engineering with Magic Square size and look.

The most recent Magic Square legends Prime blew the New Age one out of the water in terms of looks. I immediately sold my New Age one off. I've been so tempted to go all in on Magic Square and sell off my masterpiece, but haven't been able to do it.

Oh, if you are in for the matt and nylon-y look than this is for you.
If you were prone to fall for Fans Toys, nicely painted and all, then (at least I'd say so) you'll probably fall for Newage.

To me it didn't. Washed out facial features, bot too beefy and truck looks weird with these 2 headlights.
But at the end of the day it's great times:
lot of options for fans!

My TF collection is about 90% Masterpiece and Fans Toys, with a few other, 3rd party figures sprinkled in. I'm just talking about design aesthetics. In terms of polish and quality I see your point.

Happened to have some pics of the collection handy. Figure I'd post them. Maybe some of you got some ideas of how to improve it.

Obviously I need better lighting and posing. Unfortunately time is limited with kids and a job so I just put them on the shelf in a decent pose. As you can see I separated each shelf by faction and season with the big bots/combiners or combiner teams in the middle when possible. Enjoy.

Bruticus is and always will be my fav combiner!!!
Bought Onslaught with pocket money, and the rest of them.came later that year for Xmas from Santa!!

Thanks, dude.
Yeah, I mean...the bot is. Truly.
But to have a full, wholesome, experience you just need enjoyable engineering to truck too and that you just don't.
So if you don't plan to transform it: you got a very expensive, cool looking, articulated Actionmaster Magnus.
🤷‍♂️

Scooped up Studio Series 86 Sludge. Looking for Grimlock to go with him. Kinda sad I passed on him all those times I saw him at Target… Can anyone help me find him at or near retail?
