The articulation on this figure is amazing, was not expecting that. Its a little on the smaller side, but overall great figure.

I caved and bid on an Optimus Prime off eBay. He should be here in a few days. Now I?ve got my sights on Soundwave. Damn this is an expensive rabbit hole!

Absolutely. I wonder if it's because he was barely in the cartoon and the animated model looks terrible. I'm glad he looks more like the toy personally. Hopefully he has the same quality of articulation as the modern figs.
I very much agree, I just wish Hasbro/Takara hadn't made this move so late. I built my MP collection generally around figures that have more of a throwback to the toys' coloring/details/stickers, usually third party offerings.
Wow, that would have been an awesome look for the live-action films. Fantastic pics.
Was a great look. He appeared like that in the Bumblebee movie. The first ten minutes of that film are what fans wanted for decades, updated looks that still feel like the characters.
