Neither did I. I thought it was an underwater suit, but I guess it's for high-altitude.
Exactly. The wings are pretty cool.

Thanks, I upscaled the fullsize image from Hot Toys Facebook page using Photoshop which helped make it a little more clear.I didn’t even notice the edit of that Kilmer pic! Google image ain’t what it used to be.
Spanbauer, you have very good eyes. I kept looking but couldn’t make them out.
Yeah - it's a neat shot in the trailer as it feels like a tribute to those 90s Kenner Keaton figures but it's hard to imagine the Batman from Tim Burton's world would have ever wore or had a need for some of these suits in that established universe. Especially the one to the far right that looks like Steampunk Batman. The only one I'd be remotely interested in is the Knightmare one. But to be honest none really feel all that much like Keaton Batman to me.
I imagine he used them on his adventures when he fought with his rogues. I look at Keatons world as a version of what BTAS was technically supposed to before it became it's own thing.Yeah - it's a neat shot in the trailer as it feels like a tribute to those 90s Kenner Keaton figures but it's hard to imagine the Batman from Tim Burton's world would have ever wore or had a need for some of these suits in that established universe. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Batman Returns suit didn't actually do anything new, right? It had no in-universe specific function that set it apart from the '89 suit for all we knew. It was just a new suit that looked slightly different.Yeah - it's a neat shot in the trailer as it feels like a tribute to those 90s Kenner Keaton figures but it's hard to imagine the Batman from Tim Burton's world would have ever wore or had a need for some of these suits in that established universe. That's from way back when young Batman fought Beetlejuice.Nostalgia for the twin-guns version for example.

Yeah, just the glider wings. And he had a whole vault of identical versions of that suit in Returns. And he wears that suit through Gotham's winter season and down in the murky sewers. So I guess the idea is after Returns, he deviated from a one-size-fits-all-situations suit into speciality suits for particular missions with unique aesthetics, then by the time he was 70 years old he came all the way back around to a modernized version of his Returns suit.
I guess when you're Old West Batman, you'd best not bring a batarang to a gun fight. That's from way back when young Batman fought Beetlejuice.

Nope. Just make-believe nostalgia. Real nostalgia is no longer good enough. Now, they must manufacture nostalgia you never knew you had but now you want it. Nostalgia for the twin-guns version for example.
