Doesn't he charge like 7k for a paint hair job though? Saw a few screenshots recently of him quoting a price. 😂

I doubt he’s gotten any bites on that with that rate to be honest. Nothing against his work, but even the best of the best couldn’t command that at this scale.

I’m going to go right out on a limb here and say that’s about what these things should cost though. People ask me all the time why I don’t take personal commissions. The time I spent doing one of these heads I could freelance brand identity work or fashion campaigns which is what I do here in NYC in the same amount of time spent and make about what he’s quoting.

The artist in me, sadly to tell everyone, knows the going commission rate for quality paint job and hair jobs in this hobby is criminally low.

My advice to all the artists out there: charge way more… this is highly detailed, hand made, highly time consuming work that most don’t have the skill for. sorry collectors (I’m one of them too) I know that’s a hard pill to swallow.
