The show wasn't very good overall but there were some great moments. I have both Kenobi and Vader on order because I love the dynamic between them. The figures look great overall and I want to display the cracked helmet Vader and Obi-Wan together.

The show was terrible.
be honest It was ….

not excited by the costume design for this either so easy pass. I am getting Vader but that’s because that scene was cool but as always happy for those who want it.

I've been a lifelong fan of SW, and i loved everything up until it was bought by the house of mouse(I've loved sporadic things since then, but that's another story).
The crazy thing was, i was *really* excited for this coming out. Probably more excited than i had been in a loong time for SW content.
And yeah, my opinion was that is was terrible. I haven't shouted it at the rooftops. But i was saddened that this was the way "my" Obi-Wan went out.
Just one man's opinion.

I feel there was some much potential in an obi wan story and ewan is good.

but yeah. House of mouse was pretty much a disaster for Star Wars.

I guess they are also dictating what figures are fast tracked
cos this over Han or Death Star trooper boggles me.

but then I really want lobot 🤯

Funny how Boba got stuck on Tatooine and Obi-Wan went on a planet hopping adventure.

The show has a 2 hour movie in it somewhere that's reportedly pretty solid.

Some of the edits I've heard are very good.
There is going to be a fan edit by a guy who worked on the FX for Andor, and it looks like it's going to be spectacular.

Oh, I’ll have to watch Trials of the Master when it’s available.

Did anybody watch the Patterson cut of Kenobi? Apparently he condensed it to a movie sized format.

I watched it. It's very good. basically the same as what pixeljoker is doing (but without the new FX).

I've seen two different fan movie-edits of the series. Some changes I agree with, some I don't. I've yet to see one that I enjoy more than the show in it's pure form.

I think the show is fine in it's current form. Could it have been done better? Sure. But it's not like it's awful. I binged it again a few months ago over two nights, and I thought it worked better that way, than it did week to week.

A lot of these shows would be better as like a 2 part movie or 4 part miniseries. It’s unfortunate the business model requires them to get dragged out for multiple subscription cycles.

Even as it was airing, I felt like Kenobi was a movie broken into pieces. It's one ongoing story, not like any of the "episodes" had one of storylines with no connection to the other episodes like a typical show would. Even Mando has had some one off episodes.

I much prefer a binge release to a weekly drop for most content and I think the Disney stuff in particular benefits from that. I re-watched BoBF on a single day binge and while it's still no Citizen Kane...it was much more enjoyable.

Parts of it have grown on me over time. Rewatched a few days ago. IMO there's a lot that could have been done better - but -
while I don't think Obi-Wan may have been so despairing or out of habit with the Force (how would that happen, anyway?)...

while it's not IMO well executed, after ROTS it makes sense that Obi had some time to breath and Jedi or not would have been traumatized or grieving. The most he does after ROTS is put his head in his hand, and then there's the babies and chatting with Yoda.

And there's scenes here and there, like Anakin in the field, or holding the water back, which IMO is a reminder how powerful Obi is in his own right. If nothing else, Ewan was excellent.

Anyway I put myself on waitlist for both versions, after the fact.:banghead Not because of any sculpt changes but it will be a nice arc on the shelf from the ROTS version, to this version, to the Sideshow Mythos Obi. The show supposedly took costume ideas from the Mythos Obi. Which has wraps (in plastic) at the top of the boots, so the wraps ("socks") IMO sort of segue into the Mythos version.

Makes me think I should get the CW version too. Maybe. Anyway hope I get a conversion but if not will try Popcultcha or Evilbay.

I don't think any amount of editing will save this show for me. The budget, story, writing, directing and decisions made with the characters are just outright poor and unsalvageable.

Literally the only good scene in the entire show is when Vaders mask gets cracked, and even that was done better in Rebels.

Not to be dramatic, but this show was the final straw that killed my love in Star Wars. I find it very hard to believe anyone has warmed up to it in time, I think it’s more that the initial shock of experiencing the horrendous attempt at a story has worn off with all the other garbage coming out in recent years.

With that being said, I can’t imagine wanting to own this figure. To me it would be a depressing representation of an attempted butchering of an adored character who didn’t need further explanation to be who they are. I wish I could hide this thread without blocking the poster.

Rant/whine over. :drool :lol
