The Iron studios 1:10 statue for Neytiri is actually cheaper than this.

I hate how undersized Neytiri's bow is. And the fact that Hot Toys won't listen to feedback and will just release it that way. This is the best they could do and they could care less about getting these details right these days.

Pricing on these figures is a joke imo and I can’t imagine these movies actually impacted anyone enough to drop this much money on some ugly display pieces.
I’m honestly curious whether they’re inflating the value to compensate future sales when these two don’t sell much.

Whaat? 380 bucks? Jesus Christ. I still don’t get how Avatar makes 2 billion in box office and the only people who talk about the movie talk about… why no one talks about it. So much more merchandise this time around (Lego, McFarlane, Hot Toys…), yet it will flop again for what I can see. Lego line is selling really poorly too.

Anyhow, this tall smurf toys are some of the poorest efforts Hot Toys made in the past imo. Hard pass. For those who like them, that’s cool, but I’d recommend you wait. This will get discounted. They’re no way worth what they’re asking for. People talk about how tall they are… given everything else, this should be closer in price to Neca’s 1/4 scale, so what, 150 maybe? 180 ‘cause they are blue, and 230 deluxe because USB? If it’s micro-USB I step down to 220.

380… for the love of god.

Hopefully they make improvements for the production pieces.

Yup, notably the aforementioned Neytiri's bow, though I wouldn't have known if it weren't pointed out :lol

Even so, for me I think they look like good figures. Although it's probably unlikely, with them making these two, I wish they'd make more alien figures (e.g. more Preds, SW aliens, etc.).

Back in 2007 - 2012 I thought they made too many aliens and predators. Guess we've come full circle. Why they've never done 2.0 of the marines from aliens still puzzles me.

The way they have the figures straddling their mounts is just laughably bad. Makes them look like Hasbro/Mattel toys.
I have zero interest in buying figures from the Avatar movies, but you'd think a company of HT's size and resources would come up with something more innovative than this.

Even if they get discounted it won't happen till 2026 lol Personally I'm a huge fan and I can't wait to get them. It would be nice if they had moving eyes, that's my main complaint, but I can also understand why they can't do it, because of hair. However it would be still cool if they had glass eyes like first Jake does. These are prototypes, probably rushed, you can see brush paint textures on Jake in the video.Ear is also cracked. They will be improved.

I also noticed Chinese price is higher than US price.

Yeah I cant see it either, so few people are going to the flicks these days, yet this is still making those sort of numbers? Dosent seem believable.

Craziest thing is their numbers in China, with all the covid stuff going around there. Also, such dissonance from box office to merch numbers is something unique from James Cameron’s book.

Anyhow, gotta love the mad man for doing such unique experiences, they may be weird but at least he takes a stance about what cinema should give us the spectators. I wish more directors were trying that hard.

This being a forum of nerds, geeks and man-babies who play with dollies, it's a testament to how little interest there is in Avatar merchandise that this thread has so few pages :lol

Yup, this thread be like:

I’m glad though. Tall smurfs deserved better. Hot Toys still won’t talk about the tiny ass bow for single jointed elbow bow specialist Neytiry. It’s mind boggling. These really are dolls, not worthy of the action figure naming imo.

Don’t really know anyone that’s seen, or even talks about, the first movie nevermind the second one.

It makes all this money and still somehow has 0 cultural impact, it’s funny.

I feel like I'm actually one of the few people here who actually likes the look of these figures. I see the likeness in both of them and I don't mind the joints. I'd choose visible joints over some degradable rubber any day. I will get both Jake and Neytiri. I only hope HT fixes Neytiri's bow between now and release though.
