Stay away from the Brian Herbert prequels and sequels... complete waste of time.

Yeah, it's a massive time leap, but one of the best books overall. Heretics is another massive leap, if I remember correctly, but I didn't enjoy it as much. Chapterhouse picks up in quality again, IMHO.
