Hot Toys - MMS466 - The Matrix - Neo Collectible Figure

Re: Hot Toys Acquires The Matrix License I know it will never happen, but if they ever need the CG model files....

Threezero - The Matrix - 1/12 Armored Personnel Unit (APU) Collectible

Too bad. A little extra engineering and it should have been fine and articulate the way they obviously intended. It was a personal must for me because I did the 3D concept model (based on Geof Darrow's concept drawing) and articulation studies for the movies.

Threezero - The Matrix - 1/12 Armored Personnel Unit (APU) Collectible

It's not as bad as it seems. The pose-abilty totally makes it worth it. Those arms were hardly ever stowed in the upright, locked in position, even when they were just walking. If you do some damage, super glue and a little paint touch-up will hide anything. It's supposed to be a big grimy...

Threezero - The Matrix - 1/12 Armored Personnel Unit (APU) Collectible

That's what I thought at first. To make a long story short, one side snapped off (the piece just above the ammo box with the two lower cylinders connected to it.) when I tried to force the arms over. There are tiny springs inside the lower "armpit" cylinders, but the pivot joints are glued on so...

Threezero - The Matrix - 1/12 Armored Personnel Unit (APU) Collectible

Fixed the articulation issue with the shoulders. The lower (armpit) joints were glued in place...

Threezero - The Matrix - 1/12 Armored Personnel Unit (APU) Collectible

Got my APU yesterday, one day after I got the shipping notice! Size is awesome. Can actually pose with my old McFarlane sentinels since they are the same scale. The driver's face sculpt is weak, not a big deal. A few articulation issues, but nothing too major. Some clips holding the main leg...

Threezero - Robocop 2 - Robocain Collectible Figure

The toes were just one of many examples that add up to a lot of issues and an overall "fan made" feel to it. Sadly, you're probably correct though. What WOULD have been the most cost effective in the end (more sales and better rep for future sales) would be to do it right the first time (at no...

IMG_0710 by Grant Niesner, on Flickr No trick, threezero's toes alone are way too small...

Threezero - Robocop 2 - Robocain Collectible Figure

Normally, I would agree, but now there are AMPLE reference images (I took most of the ones floating around of an original puppet from Tippett https://flic.kr/s/aHskacnNH1 ) and now, with Chonicles exact duplicate available to take measurments from (NOT castings!) it should at least be VERY...

Threezero - Robocop 2 - Robocain Collectible Figure

I can only hope we see an entirely new sculpt that is far more accurate than what they have now. It just looks like every part was guesstimated, ending up with overall major scale and proportion problems. :slap
