I tried a similar hot water and rubber band trick but had no luck with it :( . I eventually ended up just sticky tacking the flaps to his face which has held for several months now and looks good.

I think Dale Stringer (hopefully I spelt that right) did a nice Agent Carter with Synderman's head sculpt a while back.

Don't think there have been any problems to report. You should be fine as long the figure isn't extremely heavy though. I did the same thing and bought an Electro stand to hold my Magneto figure and its held up fine.

Could you use the Hasbro 2.5 inch figures or would they be too big?
