I love 1/4 but have stopped buying 1/4 hot toys at release because almost all of them just warm shelves at steep discounts within months.

I am getting this from just observing recent releases where things were "waitlisted" but magically stock started to appear a few months later and retailers still slashing prices because they can't get rid of the inventory. This has continued to happen with almost every general release this year...

You guys realize they are trying to force preorders and manufacture fake scarcity right? I promise you there will be more runs of this in the coming months.

I don't understand the hot toys logic. Almost every hot toys is on deep discount on sideshow and many retailers because no one is buying them anymore and the one figure people actually do want here they implemented a terrible marketing blitz and limited the units produced. lol..

It is really bad marketing when you don't create FOMO but just pissed off customers who are turned off lol.

the low stock is fake. i hope hot toys is learning you can't have it both ways. you can't say you are a high end collectibles company and just mass produce crazily and re-release identical figures over and over again and expect ppl to continue preordering. we are in a global recession and these...

I think they are basically taking their unsold inventory of their garbage and just repackaging to try to move product. See this and the mark 5 re-release recently. Global recession and these guys are hiking up prices nonstop and releasing stuff like this lol

This is actually going to be a triple dip. The Affleck suit for the new Flash movie is similar to this so in effect I bet they make triple money on one figure set.

For sure. These likely havent even hit production. Hot Toys is a commodity product now. Guaranteed you will see these on massive discount like every other 1/4 release they have had.

Yup, it is unbelievable they are trying to charge that much money for a crappy concept and pink iron man parts. You would think paying that much money would at least allow a buyer to enjoy the figure without it turning pink.

I agree with you but to be fair to Hot Toys, even if I do not like them much these days, they started their business decades ago when this sort of quality and art was not achievable and at this point they probably are stuck with their brand Hot Toys no matter how silly it sounds.

sideshow just needs to focus on being a distributor at this point. they are just out of depth in terms of actually making products both on the statue and figure side. how are you going to try to charge the same as hot toys or other top tier statue manufacturers when you produce trash like this...

LOL - sounds about right. With a 25% mark up, less accessories and then some commentary in the product description about how it is to satsify fan demand when they could have just done it this year.
