    Leather Armored Medieval Batman

Unfortunately no... I've been incredibly busy with work as is often the case during the summer. Probably back on him in the fall.

Thanks guys. Had to put him on hold for a few days to focus on work and commission stuff but will be back to him shortly.

Thanks everyone! Yes, contact cement made for leather to stick them. Some places were also stitched to ensure fit. The boots were stitched around the base for example.

Cased the leather over the headsuclpt and after a few tests got it where I want it. Will sew up the head and re-wet it later to fit before moving forward.

Thanks everyone! Here's the latest pics. Been doing frequent updates via Instagram which has been making it easier on my end. haha! Finished the leg Greaves and boots. Made a new utility belt, much better... and got my headsculpt so am working on the mask before repainting it.

BOLA! Thanks! Found some good leather bola pics. As for a bat... for Bat-man... seems potentially cheesy. haha! I do have one I made last spring though for another unfinished project. Same one for "Das Uberkleaver" I made. And also I made this arrow for a bow for that same project....

    Leather Armored Medieval Batman

Thanks again! I'm surprised that no one has asked about weapons or gear yet. So far the only gear I've made is a collapsible grappling hook. Bladed weapons (swords, knives, bows, etc...) seem like a no-no... Batman doesn't kill after all and if I keep with the period, boomerangs (bat-arangs) are...

Just airbrushing on the dye and Acrylic Resolene (leather sealer). Using a base of Dark Brown, then misting on USMC Black as a shader. For carving, there's all sorts of tools and stamps available, but these are better for larger scale pieces... I'm just penciling on the design as I think of it...

Which effect? Just using standard Fiebings leather dyes and Resolene. Also airbrushing the dye on as opposed to swabbing it for better gradients and more even coverage.

    Leather Armored Medieval Batman

Thanks again everyone. Here's the latest, albeit a bad image as you can't see the browns in the leather. The armor will fit better than this, but I only have it laying over the shoulders for now as I can't tie it off just yet as I've other stuff to do first like the cowl. Also added the chain...

Also about the fine cutting... Not sure what I did, but now that you mention it I've seen some choppy leatherwork out there when I was researching scale saddles especially. (for another project, but a bat-stallion could be cool... been considering it) I just made use I used a sharp, (SHARP!)...

Thanks guys! Eyelets and the tool. Gotta get the eyelet tool (and a small jewelery hammer... easier to work with than a regular sized when doing fine work)! https://www.volcanoarts.com/cart/eyelets/ The buckles I made myself using floral wire. The circles are jewelery jump-rings from Michael's...

    Leather Armored Medieval Batman

I wanted to post my first major custom action figure and leather work. I'm typically a scale modeler but have been getting into 1:6 figures and customizing stuff lately. Here's a 1:6 full custom Medieval Batman with leather armor I've been working on the past week and a half. I'm still waiting...

    Model-maker trying out custom figures...

Just saying hi. I've been model-making for years and recently got into custom figures after doing a few prototype paint-masters for Sideshow Collectibles last year (PF Cmdr Cody, 1:6 Raynor armor (not the portrait), and the huge Gipsy Danger statue) and collecting some 1:6 SSC Star Wars and 3A...
