Do we have nay idea which Joes, besides Hawk, are coming after Stalker? Any chance we'll see Low-Light. Sideshow could do amazing things with an urban sniper.

I got mine yesterday. All the accesories are great, but his head is really ugly.

Irony is different from sarcasm; you might want to check a dictionary.

Yeah, I agree. There are lots of better Shotguns out there. I may pick one up, but I also wanted the "official" one as well. And as Evil Face said, he'll be needing a back pack, and I'll probably get him a knife as well.

I'm simply saying that the original card art/figure do not, in fact, "trump all". Really, one might argue that the idea that the original card art/figure trumps all is merely an argument based on the sentiment of "band wagon" fans. There's been a lot of water under the bridge in the Joeverse...

Yeah, I remember when they took the black berets away from the Rangers. Those guys were pissed to say the least. They went to Tan in honor of the S.A.S. So in '86, Beach-Head should have had a black beret. However, for a modern figure, tan would be most appropriate. However, the Joe...

The exclusive has BOTH shotguns. In fact, it's my understanding (at least when it was first announced, and I ordered it) that the Exclusive version is the ONLY one that comes with the sawed-off shotgun.

I served in Special Operations Command at Ft. Bragg. I was in 4th Psy Ops Group. I wasn't a Green Beret, or a Ranger, but I worked with lots of them. Good guys. When it comes to the "whatever works" uniform policy, that doesn't extend to berets and "chest candy". They take those off when...

Good luck. They're ususally easy to find. Here's a picture of the first Two 12" Flint figures by Hasbro, both have Green Berets.

It was easier/cheaper because his hair was already black. The suspenders aren't exactly the proper color green, they were more an Olive Drab Green, rather than a proper forrest Green. To just use the black that they used on the boots, hair, and eyebrows was cheaper than adding another color...

Wow, let's all gang up on the new guy. But I'll play along. Preeny begins by asking "What realistic commando is snake-Eyes based on"? Actually, Lara Hama has said on multiple occasions that Snake-Eyes was based on a fellow Vietnam vet, Sgt. Bob Light. So there's the answer to your...

Well, if Sideshow were simply making "classic RAH" figures, that would be fine. But that's not what they've stated they're doing. They're supposed to be making deluxe figures with modern, realistic accesories based on the classic characters. Sideshow Duke is great, but original Duke never had...

Yeah, at the end of the day, each fan should be happy with their figure. I'll just switch mine out and it'll be great. I'll do the same with Beach-head, and it'll be fine too. To each their own.
  15. O

    SSC Flint

Sorry, I was interested in having a discussion. If that's your opinion, that's fine. It's not right, but if you want a classic ARAH looking Flint, I'm sure you'll enjoy this figure. I'll switch it out for a green, fabric beret and it'll look much more correct for a Special Forces operator.

    SSC Flint

It has a lot to do with the character. Flint's always been a Special Forces Warrant Officer - a "Green Beret". The only reason his original figure had a black beret was because it was cheaper to paint it that color... and so that became "tradition", but that doesn't make it correct.

So am I. The sawed-Off is cool for nostalgia, but the tactical makes much more sense in terms of "real-world" plausibility. And if it's OK for Sideshow to change the shotgun, it doesn't seem like such a problem to give him the proper beret color - green.
  18. O

    SSC Flint

That's certainly true, however, if someone is willing to pay what Sideshow is chargeing for these figures, they're probably not an "Average Joe Fan". Like I said, it's an easy fix, but if I'm paying for realism and deluxe figures, asking for proper beret colors doesn't seem like too much to ask.

    SSC Flint

That's a very fair point. Obviously G.I. Joe has never been all that concerned with getting all the details right. My hope for the Sideshow line of figures - because they stated that they wanted to update these characters in a realistic way - was that some of those issues woudl be addressed...

    SSC Flint

Yeah, thanks. I'm not new to G.I. Joe - I'm a regular over at Hisstank.com's file card thread. Flint and Stalker are both Ranger qualified, but the black berets (in the 80's) were only for soldiers actually serving in the Ranger Regiment. Stalker's time as a LRRP would indicate that he did...
