Happened to Inart too, I think. Not doing those interactions anymore. Oh, and Asmus too.
Yup It's for the best. InArt still takes feedback but only from valid comments with actual reference rather then everyone saying one thing altogether. In my opinion as long as they follow real film photo references it's fine.

I'm not 100% sure R_R_X got chased away - he always said he liked coming on here to talk with folks, and that this was the best of the forums he had interacted on.

At the end of the day, people in this hobby can be downright terrible. And while criticism has it's place, there's a difference between constructive criticism and just being outright mean and toxic to brands. Look at the way people like batsheva would go at Asmus and you'll get a perfect example of why brands would rather just say nothing at all.

Having brands interact with and listen to their consumer base is a wonderful thing and offers a lot of benefits. But at the end of the day, people often can't help themselves and just take things too far when they think the conversation is about them and their opinion only. Unfortunately, it's that way in a lot of facets of life now.

Anyway, here's hoping R_R_X is just busy because Lim has a lot on their plate and is falling behind. Hopefully they're just focused on getting product made well and out the door, and he just doesn't have time to come here right now.

Agreed, collecting communities are the worst communities 90% of the ppl only complain and not in a polite way. There's a big difference between an advise and complaint. Ppl usually cross the line. That's why I only vibing in only like 10 threads around this forum,u can never satisfy men over 50. I don't blame RRX or anyone else who got exhausted by the negativity and drama.

That's why I left a few facebook groups and only lurk and check for news/updates in the ones I'm still in. It just takes one missunderstanding for a fight to break out and often the "innocent" get punished/banned.

And there you have it. Another rep feeling deflated due to all the negativity. What a shock (sarcasm). Ignore the nit-pickers and all will be well. People seem to expect perfection, when there is no such thing. Don’t let it get you down, R_X_X. You guys are doing great work.
This is honestly why I won't sign up as a supporter here despite the messages asking me to do so. When I first joined here 7 years ago there were a handful of companies that still interacted with their customers. Now, it's just a few, and basically none here. It's frustrating. I don't know why the mods haven't done more to shut down the people who are just jerks to the companies that took the time to chat with us.

Because that isn't something exclusive to this forum. There's a huge gaming forum, ResetEra that used to be called NeoGAF. A huge gaming forum that housed a ton of members from various big gaming companies. They would interact and talk with members there, which was quite rare and not done on other forums.

Guess what happened to all of those company members?

It's not surprising. The internet gets more toxic and entitled year over year. People just fire from the hip when staring at screen as opposed to talking to another human.

Over the years I've deleted all of my social media except for Instagram (and a twitter that I only scroll for hockey news), and this is pretty much the only forum I still come on. I have a lot more peace of mind not seeing pissing matches everywhere I look. It's sad that there's such little respect for other people in these spaces these days.

Part of that is due to the way this forum makes money. It's a completely different animal to Dave's Sideshow Freaks, because it only exists to make money, and only exists because it can make money.

Rather than extracting money from members to allow them to sell, as Dave did, they extract it from businesses instead. That creates a whole different dynamic, because all businesses have to pay for the privilege to talk to customers and potential customers.

That applies to all representatives of businesses. It was handy that some of them had quite anonymous sounding usernames, and happened to slip under the radar. :monkey3

Asmus is a weird one. The rules under the forum's new ownership blocked them from advertising and communicating. They said they had so much to say but weren't allowed to say it, and eventually became a sponsor so they could say it. Once they were legally able to post, they decided not to.

And Nanjin.

He had a hissy fit and announced his departure, because the forum membership wouldn't stroke his ego and show him absolute positivity.

The forum also didn't offer him a free platform to advertise and communicate unless he became a sponsor. Since he hates this place sponsorship would be unlikely. With all his sock accounts banned he had no voice, so retreated to the echo chamber of his Facebook page. I read he sends an employee in every Monday to screencap all the negativity. :lol

Love these kinds of rare posts with a lot of behind-the-scenes insight—they help to keep everything (minus the typical Asmus shenanigans) make sense and appreciate being a part of the overall great community here.. even if there has been some unfortunate negativity (and ownership/policy changes?) of late.

I'm sick of the negativity in general, be it here, Facebook or other places, there was a time when we were all just genuinely excited for figures and we could communicate and share our opinions now it's just petty remarks, negativity and disregard for others combined with a sense of entitlement from people who do not understand how hard it is to make these dolls we like so much but that's just a small branch of what is happening with the whole world, it seems like we enjoy hating things and each other more than ever.

I can totally understand... With all the respect I'd say to just ignore that mob. I know this advice sounds basic as hell, but that's what you need to do. We love you very much and we are grateful for all the hard work you and Limtoys do. Main reason I was back to this forum is you and Arthur. Take your time, heal and keep going! I'll be always happy to see you there or anywhere else, can't wait to the new Limtoys projects!
Thank you Sir!

Won’t pretend like I fully understand the technicalities or that I’m innocent of contributing towards negativity for certain products myself, but unfortunately I think there’s an overarching consumer culture right now which combines modern internet rage/entitlement with a sharp distrust towards companies that is often grossly misdirected towards groups and individuals truly trying their best.
Without getting too deep, disagreement and negative sentiments generally drive discussion more than mutual excitement in communities where news flows more slowly.
Not defending or excusing these behaviors, but hopefully, however you’ve decided to move forward/away will help deafen the people who bicker just to bicker.

As I said earlier there is a big difference between expressing your disagreement in a polite way/demand things and act like a savage. We are all adults here, collecting dolls... we need to respect each other and have fun, unfortunately lot of people crossed the line many times, so I can totally understand how R_R_X or other ppl feel. I'm an artist myself and stopped posting my art on social media for a same reason. I have seen lot of hurtful comments here especially recently.

For me, this hobby and collecting in general is supposed to be an escape from the negativity of day-to-day life. Glad to hear this figure is still coming, whenever that might be.

Off topic but that's not what happened to NeoGAF. lol Everyone left GAF in 2017 when it was discovered the owner had sexually assaulted someone when they were a staunch supporter of the MeToo movement and all that. The majority of the of the community including devs left and severed ties with the forum leading to a "reset" and thus a new forum was started - ResetEra.

NeoGAF still exists just without the developers participating given the incident nor the number of members.

Whoa are you no longer a mod now?! So is it public knowledge how our profiles got cloned by the admins and owners for a separate forum? 🤔
