Just found this, and I'm so annoyed. It's like the perfect Vincent Price stature... Except for that severed head. It just seems a little to gory for me I guess? I would have preferred something more understated, and it kind of kills me (no pun intended) that it's such a dealbreaker. I wish *that* hand was the swappable one. Gah.
I totally agree with you. the right hand should be the swap out between the head and the noose perhaps? Or the head and the axe? or even just a plain relaxed hand swap out for those who don't want the head at all.

So, Just out of curiosity: has anyone actually ordered this besides me? I paid the minute it was announced for the exclusive and have been waiting on pins and needles since. I wrote Vincent Price from 1987-1992-93 as a head of a local independent fan club during that time, out of Ohio. He signed a pile of stuff for me and our members when we would send him things. I had to nab this the second it was put up.

It’s been in my IS cart for some time. I keep thinking a 1/6 scale figure may be forthcoming, perhaps announced after this piece is released, but maybe not. I’m re-designing/updating the kitchen now and buying new appliances. I’d have to justify a $300+ statue in the middle of all this. Still very close to buying as it won’t happen again in this quality. The face on this thing is unreal.

I am hopeful we may see a 1/6 figure eventually. I will get it too.

BTW, that’s a phenomenal story about the fan club and autographs.

Those were the "good ole days", when Forrest Ackerman would forward letters to celebrities for fans. Or the celebrities would actually publish their addresses and let folks know "as long as you send return postage, we are happy to sign whatever you like". I think my favorite thing he signed for me was this item. I asked him to add the "Merchant of Menace" below his signature.

There was a resin model kit that came out back in the late 90's that was more faithful to the poster art. The severed head was a likeness of the actress that played Vincent's wife in the movie. The base of that kit was ridiculous in respect to size and space it would take up in a display. Didn't Amok Time release a 1/6th Vincent Price figure, or at least show a prototype at one point?

Back in '09 through Executive Replicas I believe. I had the Raven figure I bought cheap and customized a Dr. Strange figure (long before the movies) and sold it. I also customized the Edward Scissorhands Vincent figure into a Doctor Strange (again, years before the MCU) and sold it. I was introduced to Mr. Price through Doctor Strange. 😁

The funny part about this one, with the Tom and Joy Studios head, is they only made about 20. It was released with a wooden burned image box. The second version, with superior clothing and a nicer box doesn't really look like Vinney. This first one does though.

Check this thread to compare the two releases.

Well, we're going out of town for the weekend, and I'm going to bring up getting this thing, right in the middle of kitchen renovations, as a b-day gift. Going back through and looking at this piece has really got me wanting this as I believe we'll never see its like again.

May the odds ever be in my favor.
Thanks a lot Dr. Anton Phibes!! 😆(y)

As a lifelong devotee (at least so far) to all things classic movie monsters and science fiction, I live to serve. :geek:;)

Well, pulled that trigger after waiting for some time. Looking forward to seeing it! And hoping nothing else I want releases this year. I’m still waiting on Saturn Toys Batman and Robin after getting Joker and TMP Spock already.

Crap I forgot TWOK Spock is also releasing this year. 😳☹️

It's been a while since I saw that as well, but I think you're right. It is odd though that they go so far out of their way to NOT name the movie. lol I think I would have prefered something different that a bunch of different parts of a movie thrown into one statue. It doesn't make sense because there was never a scene like that. I prefer more of an iconic scene recreation. Don't get me wrong though, this is a badass statue, and if it was in 1:4 I'd be all over it. But that's a lot of money for a 1:6 piece.
Looking back it may be the case where they have the actor’s likeness rights but not the movie’s, e.g. their Bela Lugosi figure.
