Ragnarok had a good balance of plot and humor but L&T had too little of the former and too much of the latter. There was actually a good, dark story that we could have seen on screen that might have elevated Gorr to the top tier of MCU bad guys, but instead of that we got a Cliffs Notes version of his laying waste to other gods along with a boatload of attempted humor (Thor pining away for Mjolnir, the damn screaming goats, the stupid actors at New Asgard, etc.) that completely undermined the film. And that's not even taking into account the whole side trip to go see Zeus, which added nothing.

Sorry, but Ragnarok is still one of the better MCU films (and easily the best Thor movie). MoM definitely won't age well, but I can't see NWH being derided anytime soon. Just because it relied on a ton of nostalgia doesn't mean it was a bad movie.

The first Thor was pretty good, people seem to forget that.

Ragnarok was silly and mostly forgettable. I'm not a huge Thor fan so seeing him silly is fine with me. But as a film, as a story, it was just janky all over. Cartoon comes to mind; and you know how I feel about those.

I didn't bother to see Thor 4 so I can't speak on it.

Yes, the first Thor was good but it could have used a bit less Shakespearean intrigue and a bit more action. I like Brannagh though so I don't fault him too much for that lol. Ragnarok was just a fun film. It had the right mix of humor and action, it had Thor vs. Hulk in the ultimate gladiator fight ( ), Cate Blanchett in a catsuit chewing up the scenery AND Jeff Goldblum being Jeff Goldblum. What's not to like???

That's been apparent for a while -- noticed it in interviews too. He's that kind of director.

Specific humor usually has a 3-7 year shelf life. Then it gets old. Ask Mel Brooks, Andrew Dice Clay, Jim Carrey, Farrelly Bros, Will Ferrell, Judd Apatow, Deadpool, etc.

Had to go back and remind myself this is a Flash board. Disagree on the vitriol on Ragnarock and MoM, but to each their own. Odd how there’s not a movie that I can think of I want to pay to sit in a theater to watch this year, including Flash here.

Odd, and sad. Gone are the days.

I'll probably do theater for Indiana Jones out of duty and respect of Raiders... but I know it will only make me sad. Maybe Mads will be OK -- a new villain to enjoy.

I have no plans to see Flash in a theater.
