I always found it interesting ppl who would buy multiples of the same figure to display the potential different looks the figure is possible to have with it's included accessories rather than just displaying it one way for a time, then use those parts to switch up the display at a later time. To me, that's part of the fun of having so many extra accessories. That's sort of why the idea of two packs is a little strange to me unless the second is something entirely different. Like with the TDK Joker, even if InArt wanted to still included the Jail set up, I don't feel there was a need for an entirely second figure when I can just take the coats off and swap the arms myself
That’s an interesting thought and I think it varies depending on the collector. I for one have a very small 6 scale collection. I don’t collect franchises or runs and don’t hone in on a specific format. My collection is focused on just a few of my all time favorite characters with a few second tier listers. I treat 6 scale figures as center pieces. I used to collect various figure lines (smaller scale) but realized I didn’t care for 90% of them and they were just taking up space.
I have a fine-tuned Batman collection that hardly has any villains or side characters and of many different formats. I’m sure that’s weird to many haha. I particularly love to collect artist renditions as well as film, animated, and video game renditions etc. I’m still waiting to add a 6 scale Batman…some day…I’m just so picky. I also have a small Mandalorian collection consisting of Lego vehicle builds and a few small figures and so on with a couple 6 scale Mandos representing his different stages. I’m planning to do the same with Aragorn. I still keep my ToyBiz Helms Deep Aragorn on my display shelf from back in the day.
As for 6 scale, Im not much of a poser/photographer, but I love the tangibility and accuracy of the format. I’ll occasionally repose but hardly.
I guess because of all this, I have no problem justifying having more than one of the same character. I don’t care to collect side characters or fill shelves with cheapo crap unless it has some kind of nostalgic value. I’d much rather buy another or attempt to create another iteration of the same character rather than fill space with characters I don’t connect with. That’s really what it boils down to.

I try not to read Facebooks comments because a lot are stupid, asking for other figures not related to the post, but this one was related and the answer stood out:

My only issue is, with such a long pre-order time, it means probably having to pre-order others (like Hermione and Ron) before Harry is in-hand.

Thank you, I don't use any social media besides YouTube (and only for figures) so I'm glad when these get shared.

On Average so far, they are only releasing 4 figures a year for pre-order. That's my only concern with getting the others released right now. It feels like it may take another year or two to even just show Hermione and Ron. Hopefully they have something in the works like maybe having a separate team just to work on Potter stuff. Regardless, I'm excited to see what else is to come from InArt!

I took one for the team :lol FB is a cesspool, but Twitter is worse, so glad of that.

I like companies that give short pre-orders too, but then again, I don't want them to rush with something high-end, so it is what it is, I suppose.

My bet is they already have Ron and Hermione sculpts completed. The uniform and body for Ron will be almost identical (Scabbers will be interesting) so they're probably just seeing how Harry pre-orders go. I noticed the body has a knee cover, and wondered if they might use that for Hermione like SA did with theirs. I hope they use seamless though.

They said something similar to the same type of question over on Instagram. There's definitely going to be more coming, which is exciting. Hopefully they're training more staff to handle the increased workload.

They mentioned last year a few times on YouTube streams that they had something special planned for the Harry Potter line, so maybe this could be in connection with that.

I hadn't thought about how they will do exposed joints. So far all the characters they have done have covered joints except for the seamless arm attachments that came with Joker. It will be interesting to see how they tackle that.

They definitely need to get their act together regarding announcements and especially releases per year. 5/16 figures of their Phase 1 plan are up for PO now, we haven't seen/heard anything regarding the other 11 yet. Now collectors want as many characters of HP and LOTR on top but how long are they willing to wait? For me, Legolas has to be next up, and then they really "need" to turn to Daenerys. I bet a lot of collectors - including myself - are really excited for her but I don't wanna wait like 5 or 6 years to have her in hand.

They move very slow considering the list of figures coming isn’t that big.
It’s been a year and we only have Joker, Pennywise will no doubt release this year…..but i think that’s all we’ll get tbh.

I’m guessing next year will be Gandalf and Aragorn…..maybe Harry.

It’s slow.

Is it any slower than HT? I waited over a year for S02 Mando. How long was it from the Joker preorder window to release?
The Joker figures went up for pre-order on March 21st of last year. I think the sculpted started shipping in November or December? I got a sculpted and got it the first week of February from Kit. So, just over ten months, which is far faster than Hot Toys.

Now, I think they're only just finishing the Joker figures, which puts them at 14 months - still much faster than Hot Toys - but the issue is how they'll get through Gandalf without pushing Aragorn and Harry back. Gandalf is obviously much more labor intensive to make than anything else they've done, and it'll all be rooted. No sculpted figures to help break it up.

If they can stay under 18 months they're pretty much beating Hot Toys these days, but with a MUCH smaller allotment of figures to get through. My hope is that they can hire more staff as they grow, because I'm not sure I'm still going to be interested in collecting these five years from now at the rate they're getting announced.

Gandalf also supposedly sold far fewer units than Joker- who was inevitably extremely popular- so that should at least help them get through the release batches faster than the 4 month drip feed of rooted Jokers.

I could be wrong, but I think Lord of the Rings has considerably less interest in Asia than Marvel/DC. Superheroes are powerhouses in China, along with Transformers, Avatar, Fast and Furious, etc.

Star Wars, LOTR, Wizarding World, Game of Thrones, Pirates of the Caribbean...they just don't have much pull in Asia outside of Japan. I think that helps with a lot of these lines. Joker, Batman, Superman...those are definitely going to clog their pipeline but I think otherwise they can probably get through their other figures (so far) much quicker, and with better quality control as they're learning.

Gandalf plus Batman and Pennywise. Are you thinking they will release them one after another instead of some overlapped?

I think the releases will pick up. It's only been 14 months since Joker was announced and he was by far their biggest seller. He is pretty much fully released minus Specfiction.

I believe we will see Pennywise and Gandalf get released by the end of the year with both being much smaller runs. I think Batman will be similar to Joker with a small batch releasing in China very end 2023/beginning of 2024 and throughout the first half of year. Aragorn probably Q2/Q3 and Potter Q3/Q4 of next year.

I'm excited to see Daenerys too, but then I will want more from that line. Personally, I want to see Potter line, then LOTR line, then GoT line. If InArt could get to the point to release 3-4 from each of those 3 lines and also DC for about 15-20 total a year, I would be happy.

Now that you mention it, maybe 10-15 a year from InArt would be a more sustainable and better quality number for them. In all reality I would hope to see that progress be plausible in 5-6 years. If we could start seeing that number increase a couple each year. They don't need to be like Hot Toys with that 50 per year.

I think 7 would be a good number for them to get to. That's nearly a new InArt figure dropping every 6 weeks or so. That's plenty for price range... also assuming most people are not collecting ALL the InArt offerings.

But hey, the point is taken that we're all eager for these guys to ramp up and start to get more figures out and give us reveals of those overdue teases and more.

As it stands, my InArt collection is:

Joker 2-pack
Gandalf
Aragorn

Passing on:
Pennywise
Batman - at least I think so, might change my mind on release
Harry Potter

Eager to see:
Legolas
Nazgul
Daenerys
Joker '19
