Aside from a new Han which based on past history doesn’t seem likely, what else is there to make?

Realistically I’m not expecting much beyond their ESB model. So maybe two all new figures and another rework or repaint.

ESB
New - Luke (Snowspeeder)
New - Lando
Reissue - Vader
Reissue - Fett
Repaint - Fett (Vintage)

ROTJ
New - Leia (Boushh)
New - Maybe TIE Pilot or an Ewok
Rework - Vader
Rework - C-3PO
Repaint - R2-D2 (Endor)

A wild card would be Force Ghost Anakin since Howard loves the character.

A new (not a reissue) ROTJ Fett is another option but don’t know if they will with multiple Fetts already on the market.

An alien would be a pleasant surprise but seems doubtful they’ll put the work in.

I can see Leia in Boussh disguise happening. That would make sense and it’s another shot at doing a main character in an alternate look.

I don’t think we’ll get more Ewoks beyond Wicket. He’s really the most recognizable one. The only way I could have seen more Ewoks is if they had done a bundle with Wicket and one of the others. I guess they could do a re-release but I kind of doubt it.

Tie Pilot is a maybe, but Hot Toys could have made one so many times over and haven’t done so yet.

I’d like to see aliens like Ackbar and Nien Nunb but I think they’re long shots. If either of them has a chance I think it’s more Ackbar.

I wouldn’t mind a re issue of a RotJ Boba Fett,I missed out on that one. But a character like Ackbar certainly deserves a figure, since he got one of the most iconic lines of that movie as well

I will say I'm just the smallest bit concerned about this line. After May the 4th last year, Hot Toys was extremely quick to change the narrative with the cries for the main characters. They announced a Phase 2 would happen, and they did meet that promise. A lack of that, along with the weak 40th Empire run, definitely has me feeling like we could be headed towards something more akin to that rather than the AOTC line.

I hope I'm wrong.

A lot of us already expect it to be like the ESB 40th line realistically.

Expecting it to be like the AOTC line would be setting up for potential disappointment.

There’s a lot of other factors but a key difference is that AOTC was starting from scratch so it’s no surprise they got all those figures. ESB and ROTJ already had a fair number of figures when the anniversaries hit.

And I would not worry based on a lack of announcement; more figures are likely coming. They almost never make announcements. I think they always intended for the second AOTC wave but just made the public to quell some of the criticisms and sell more preorders of the first wave.

These figures are in development for a long time. They don’t and can’t just churn them out to meet the outcry of a vocal minority.

Maybe if we wait long enough, Disney will remake the OT with deepfakes and AI then they might let HT make slightly off, uncanny valley versions of our favourite heroes. I mean c’mon, if Mando Luke, Rogue One Tarkin and Leia and Dial of Destiny Indy aren’t a dry run……
