They’re doing a live action crossover episode with SNW.
Some of it is apparently going to be animated. From what I understood, the 23rd century and any characters from either series who will be there will be live action, and the 24th century and any characters from either series who will be there will be animated. Pike, and I assume La'an, will wind up in cartoon form at some point.

Didn’t know there would be an animation element, it’ll probably make for a unique episode even though I’m not that much into LD.

New SNW trailer dropped today:

Finally my Paramount+ sub makes sense.

Those are the actual voice actors, which is cool.

Shame we couldn't see them all in live action, as the whole cast looks like a great match with their characters.

OK I definitely need these figures now.

Damn, there probably would be enough demand for these to make them possible. I might have to prepare to fit at least a Mariner into my lineup plans, I was caught very off-guard by how much I ended up enjoying Lower Decks.

I wonder if swap-out toon heads would look too "off" on an otherwise realistic body

I think shark-jumping is precluded for Trek by the fact that Goofball Hijinks is an entire sub-genre of Trek episodes. This won't even be SNW's first.
Are you referring to episode 8 of S1, The Elysian Kingdom?

I dunno 🤷‍♂️
Am I the only one to ask :
Is this a “jumping the shark” episode ?
When they first announced it and people were expecting a Roger Rabbit style episode with Pike interacting with animated characters, it definitely would have been. But I think they're doing it the right way and it doesn't seem any cheesier than a ton of other episodes we've gotten in the past, like Fistful of Datas or Bride of Chaotica.

I thought episode 8 of SNW would for sure be a hit here considering all the goofy TNG episodes they made. It seemed like an homage to that sort of episode.
