At some point there's gotta be a renaissance after these dark times, when making original characters and good writing comes around again, right? 🙄
Sure...that pendulum has got to swing back but hey, some of us a speed sliding toward the century mark and I'm afraid this'll be me when that happens...

Seriously though, whenever I hear about these "updated" new versions of (insert name here) I can't help thinking of all of the marvelous myths and stories there are from other cultures and/or countries that could fuel a wealth a creativity while meeting that so-called agenda if these creatively inert people would just put the work in. And be interesting to watch!

But no chance of that until every franchise vault has been raided, pillaged and ground into dust first.

No more fedoras after this. retire it like cowboy hats and amor.

Poor Indy.

hahaha what a surprise, the usual auspects hating on a film they have never seen.
LOL
While in general it is a good point, with Lucasfilm, there hasn't been a film that the critics have hated and the audience has liked, and their track record since the Disney purchase has been abysmal.

I’m watching KOTCS right now, been 13 years since my last viewing!

30 minutes in so far other than fridge not as bad as I remember..

:chase

I never thought it was *that bad* (and the fridge was no more a suspension of disbelief than anything else we've seen in the saga).

Just waiting for the rest of the world to come around, one Jye at a time!

Crystal Skull's worse offense was that it was boring. After the motorcycle chase, that's it for big action until the Jungle Truck Chase... and that's a lot of movie to slog through.

That's where I've arrived at aswell.

If that lines up with Marion's arrival, me three! She's the Jar Jar of KOTCS (and I don't mind either character).
