Finally picked up the droids deco Boba Fett. Really nice looking. Didn’t realize they made one. Very cool.

Yeah, they had a good Vader, but flawed, figure with the 40th anniversary version and they just keep reusing it. They could at least redo the helmet. If they upsized the vintage collection OWK Bader helmet it would look so much better.

The blue bits on the new Mando seem out of place. Were they there in the Boba series? I don't remember seeing them.

Had to take my foot off the gas with Black Series 'coz found it can add up fast$$$$$ with all the other stuff I collect, but:

D@m good sculpt IMO

Yup, a joke since '78. If your attention's as on-point as a stormtrooper's aim.

Come on now. Stormtroopers have been nothing more than fodder outside of a few dramatic lines. They've always been considered a joke. They got taken down by Teddy bears in the final hour. Much of their screen time is spent missing most of their shots. We have decades of pre Disney tropes about that. At the end of your entire post defending them, you fall back on that very cliché of them being a joke that can't hit anything lol.

Yeah, that was... sarcasm.:lol But good dodge on the rest of the post about ANH and ESB.

And by "teddy bears" you mean the species that built large, intricate towns hundreds of feet up redwoods, and constructed (and actually flew) aircraft and massive catapults, complex constructions on-par with (or beyond) many indigenous peoples in our world that defeated colonial armies? Or the species that within 24 hours came up with (and constructed...) elaborate traps that pierced or toppled huge armored vehicles that would have been a major challenge for rebel military, and could quickly figure out the basics of operating high-tech equipment like speeder bikes or ATSTs when needed?

Or the species that had a numerical advantage (Palps may mention a "legion" but there are only about 50-60 stormtroopers in the Endor battle actually onscreen, no more than 100 Imperials all up) AND the element of surprise AND "home turf." Not to mention the combat assistance of a dozen crack rebel commandos plus Han, Chewy and Leia.

Yeeah, that tired "teddy bear" thing does kinda unravel under the ol' magnifying glass, right?

But all right, I guess one of SW's top ten most iconic characters, one of the top five selling figures of SW lines (in any scale,) menacing tens of thousands of collectors' shelves for decades... are a joke, a trope. "Nothing more than fodder.":slap

Nice work, ShootingDowntheGalaxy.:rotfl

All of your defending can't erase the fact that Stormtroopers created the trope about bad guys not being able to hit anything. Stormtroopers spawned a joke of a cliché. That's an undeniable fact. They have been the literal joke they created. Disney didn't change a thing. You're taking this way too seriously lol.

We're gonna have to call a Code Grey on Felinx here; let me go pull up some Ativan.

(Code Grey is a security code often used in hospitals to denote an aggressive person who might be a problem, for those who dont know) looks like that pile of Stormies up there is not having a good day at all.
I think its fair to say that whether or not Stormies are any good at what they do - and the books and comics tell us that they are - our heroes are wearing plot armor thst would withstand a five megaton strike. It wouldnt matter, they would not be allowed to win anyway

Not sure exactly where to post this question but since the black series came out with the original 12 background display from the early bird certificate I was wondering if anyone knew who painted the original background for its 1977 Christmas release? I’ve been doing some light research on the certificate itself and can’t seem to find any sources that tell who painted the original artwork and where the source material was from.

Looking at the images themselves you can clearly see some of them were sourced from set photos or promo photo shoots that Lucasfilm had done earlier. Particularly the Tusken, Han, Luke, Jawa, and Stormtrooper.

Does anyone have a source or information on this pivotal piece of artwork in Star Wars toy history? Thanks in advance.

The Stormtrooper is funny since it's Han in disguise.
