It amazes me how there are still people out there defending Kathleen Kennedy despite the huge mess clearly being the fault of a poor leader. If she was a football manager she’d have been sacked years ago. Disney has a 50/50 success rate at best under her, and probably 20/80 on the movie side of things.

Successes =

Rogue One
Clone Wars season 7
Mandalorian season 1
Mandalorian season 2
Andor
Tales of the Jedi

Middling =

Solo
Bad Batch

Failures =

The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
Rise of Skywalker
Book of Boba Fett
Kenobi
Mandalorian season 3

And that’s without mentioning the countless announced and cancelled movies and sacked directors/writers. I suspect that failures column will increase with Skeleton Crew, The Acolyte, and the Rey Skywalker movie. How can anyone fail so often and stay employed?
A lot of the problem is that these three "The Force Awakens", "The Last Jedi", "Rise of Skywalker" still made some money because it was Star Wars, so many just went because it was the first SW trilogy in years. Admittedly each made successively less. But the Mouse doesn't really consider those smaller details.

This is probably their reasoning for the recent break in movie releases. She realises that consistently good stuff is hard to do, so the easy path is do nothing for years, then put out any old crap. Probably with Rey in it because all the little kids (who didn't know any better) will relate to her as "my Star Wars" at that point.

So sheep I mean people will still come and watch the crap anyway, because it was the first SW trilogy in years......and so we repeat,

It's so lazy.

I keep hoping Bob Iger cans her and someone competent with a good business sense and a good knowledge of the universe/lore to take over.
Yep, I was expecting that post RoS. But here we are....

The problem is that he would also probably get socially cancelled because he is a white man sacking a woman.

At the end of the day do they care more about money (the ST, Kenobi etc.) or delivering a quality product (eg R1 and Andor). It think we already know the answer. It’s the same thing over at Marvel, and with Disney’s live-action adaptations of their own classic animated films. All they care about is exploiting children, and more accurately their parents’ money. It’s an ancient way of thinking, that kids will watch anything. As anyone born in the 80s will know, when done right these movies are timeless. Kind of ironic that Kathleen Kennedy herself was credited as a producer on many of those 80s classics, she clearly didn’t learn a single thing.

As for identifying with Rey I have serious doubts that’s even a thing. I imagine more kids would identify with Baby Yoda and Din Djarin than Rey. Just as more kids would identify with Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor more than Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel. The moral of this being kids aren’t as stupid as Disney think.

I look forward to new action figure announcements.

Expecting Mando SS3 figs to be dropped like flies shortly

*shoos flies away* nah I'm good. I think most of us are, although admittedly those red Guards and beskar supercommandos would be pretty sweet.

I still may pick up Bo, but I want her to be on sale.

Utah:
Oh God after Mando s3 he has massively dropped in my estimation. Christ what was that?

This is my point, between that and Andor, it's like seeing Batman and Robin and The Dark Knight released in the same year and the same continuity.

That's a really good analogy.

Was it B&R where they were driving the Batmobile up the side of an Art Deco skyscraper? And I'm sitting there thinking COME ON, GUYS. Really...?

Felt the same way during the Mad Mando Tea Party.

We could have had Fenn Rau. But that's what we got.

I'm currently rewatching Andor. I'd say my most wanted figure from this show is definitely Dedra. I really hope we'll see her someday. If not sometime soon, then hopefully HT will open the floodgates after S2.

After initially watching Andor, I gave it a prompt rewatch, and I found I enjoyed it even more. A Dedra is a must! But yeah here’s to hoping for S2 if not in the near future.

Any love for this guy?

As much as I want Cassian in his Rogue One look I’d have to re-consider if they only released B2 with a season 1 version. I expect a season 2 Cassian would more likely release alongside a K2 re-issue rather than B2.

I absolutely adore this little droid, and I’m not too proud to admit the odd manliest of manly man tears escaped my eyes during his scenes in the last couple of episodes. The only other Star Wars scenes I can think that hit me that hard emotionally were all in the last ever episode of CW.

I wasn't the biggest fan of him during my first watch of Andor. Don't exactly know why. Now upon my second watch I think he's pretty cool. If there'd be an Andor 2 pack with Cassian and B2 I'd be tempted. Not sure if I'd buy a loose B2. Depends on the price.
