Maybe tpm wasn't great, but the hype was fun. I still have that stap and droid.

The film wasn’t great. But that first trailer was epic.

The more I see of these, the more I'm glad I got 2.

I'll have to learn some sort of self-control when the tan variants come out.

I still remember that quicktime trailer. I had resisted downloading it for a couple of years and then that trailer dropped.

I still remember watching wing commander to see the trailer. It was a good time. I think there were 30+ people for wing commander, after the trailer nearly all of them left.

Think I’ll get two tan ones to go along with the Geonosis ones. Those and a Super will be good for me.

Any US retailers have any of these for a decent price?

For some reason I never liked the look of a Super Battle droid. I think it's because the lack of eyes. If they were to make one with the red eyes like in that recent Mando episode, I might be tempted to get one.

Funny you ask, I just got a charging soon e-mail from Sideshow a few minutes ago.

Being charged Monday for my 2 B1s.

I think these guys are just about perfect in every way but one, the height and proportion.
Justin's review shows one next to Dooku, and the Battle Droid looks tiny. These guys are listed on Google at 6'4"
Qui-Gon was eye level with them in the Naboo Hangar, and no one is eye level with Liam Neeson.
How could they have missed such a significant detail? They look so good otherwise.

Lucky! Been trying to track one down. Waiting for a waitlist conversion. Spoke with a US retailer who told me to check their site daily just in case someone cancels as well.

I think the more important consideration is the Battle Droid vs Clone Trooper. The B1 is 6'3" and Clones are 6'. The Hot Toys B1 is a little bit taller than the Clone (factoring the Phase 1 helmet/fin) in that comparison so that's fine.

Dooku and the B1 should be the same height but Dooku is a tall figure. If the B1 were scaled to Dooku, they'd tower over Clones which wouldn't be right.

Scale is not something Hot Toys is consistent with all the time and we just kind of live with that. Sometimes the characters are a little too tall, sometimes the troopers are a little too short, sometimes female figures are way too small, sometimes droids are a little small, sometimes armored figures are too big or too small... It can really be all over the place.

But if it doesn't look ridiculously wrong on display and can be made to work, I'm fine with that at the end of the day. This is the B1 we're getting till the molds break so I'm glad they're consistent with the troopers they'll be fighting against.

I would just preorder one from Popcultcha in Australia. They just got in the AOTC Clone Trooper and Pilot so this shouldn't be too far behind.

The price will go down when you switch to the destination to the US since it removes the VAT. And the conversion rate is favorable. The international shipping is also not bad.

And the sooner the better. Availability is going to be very tight for them with the AOTC wave. Hope it works out.
