I do like that about him. Same as Krennic. It's interesting when these characters want to be more than they can be and fail in a spectacular way. Somewhere between pity and sympathy.

Given the Ahsoka trailer (and its just obvious Thrawn is going to be the big villain) we know who's going to come out on top of the Imperial Remnant leadership contest.
Wonder if Thrawn will actually appear in the final episode to put Giddy in his place. I think they might save him for Ahsoka, but then again, the Imperials seem to take the resurgence of Mandalore very seriously so maybe Thrawn will show up to make sure the job is done properly.

I didn’t hate the Grogu mech as much as I thought I would, it was a good laugh, still not in love with it though.

Although Bo-Katan gets hotter every episode somehow, so it evens out.

Oh yeah, I was wondering how you ended up feeling about that.

I agree, it was used pretty sparingly and there were some funny moments. But I'd be okay with it being a limited time gimmick.

I imagine they’ll use it to sell some toys and then it’ll get scrapped. No room for it on the N-1.

Very true. And it costs a lot more to animate than the pram. Feels like it could be used to some capacity in a finale plot point then discarded.

Google Mandalorian Season 4, Favreau sez S4 is already written in a Variety article to tie it to other shows.

How much I care will depend on the finale since I didn't sign up for the Bo show etc. It'd be nice if the Season wound up getting back to Din D'jarin and Grogu but can't see that happening unless Grogu goes on a rampage like Anakin. Which actually would be fun to watch.

Also the 2 year waits and now a final film that apparently won't happen until 2026.

That wouldn't have been feasible with just the one titular Mandalorian and would've required broadening the scope regardless.

Did they handle it the best way possible this season? No, absolutely not. But we're here now, and I want to give them the chance to see how they deliver on that premise instead of writing it off.

I enjoyed Din Djarin's personal journey with Grogu as much as everyone. But they gave us that with S1 and S2 and some of TBOBF. Could they have just kept making the same show every season? Sure. If the entire run of the series was Din bounty hunting while trying to reunite Grogu with the Jedi then I'm sure many people would've been happy with that. But it could also have just gotten stale too; even frustrating without more plot progression.

I've felt disappointment in S3 but nothing close to anger or outrage. It's just personally exhausting for me to be angry. I would rather just find happiness and enjoyment where I can in these shows versus being angry about things that can't be changed.

Well, yeah, I always thought Din's world would expand as he gets swept into larger events, maybe even end up being reluctant king - but there's ways of telling a story and the Din/Grogu sidelining more or less IMO has been a bit much, with an after- the -fact comment from the showrunners. And while Din did say he owed Bo, IMO didn't think that meant he was gonna become her First Hand or guard or whatever. Dunno, maybe I needed that transition fleshed out more. Like when Boba spelled out why he and Fennec would stick around. The writing could have been better this season.

While both Rebels and Clone Wars would have entire episodes devoted to non-main characters, there are a lot of episodes each season. Also what seems to have become the Disney formula of pushing female leads is getting ridiculous. And before someone screams WuMeen Hatr - nope, I like Bo just fine and KS is doing great.

To me Disney's slate feels strained tho; I miss the old MCU when Black Widow kicked butt or when Cara and Din teamed up - as in team, no big deal. "The Mandalorian" for me is gonna stay my S1 artwork e.g. Din D'jarin with Grogu. But yeah nothing I can do about it and will be lined up for finale.

I don't believe we're in disagreement about that. You quoted me so hopefully you saw it but I did say: "Did they handle it the best way possible this season? No, absolutely not."

I'm in no way defending the choppiness of this season because even though the finale may very well be amazing, a lot of how the season led to it would be a disservice to it.

But there are some out there who seem so set on being angry, particularly fixating on the show not being just about Din and Grogu anymore. I fully understand missing that but I feel the real issue is how the concept of broadening the scope was mishandled rather than the concept itself.

Given the time and chance, it may be better realized in the future. But some are already writing off the show completely which is what seems hasty and unfortunate to me.

I think they'll definitely save him for Ahsoka. Isn't the whole point of that show to find both Thrawn and Ezra? That said, now that he's been name-dropped in this show I could see (as a lead-in to Ahsoka) a post credits stinger which features Thrawn and/or Ezra out in the Unknown Regions. Maybe it'll show Thrawn finding a Space Whale wayfinder and proclaiming "At last!"......

Charles Parnell. From "The Last Ship" and a smaller part in Top Gun Maverick. Basically typecast as senior military types. However, he would have probably, IMHO, made a better Djarin than Pascal. Fits more of the grim, paternal, gritty stoic type.

The action can get a bit clunky at times, but that's a limitation of those suits. They look cool. They make great toys. But the practicality behind them seems rough.

Kind of wish all the other people in the cave all pitched in and bought Vizla a blaster pistol for his birthday. How much can they cost anyway? Literally pick one up off of a dead guy.

From the industry side, I was told Pascal has said he wants off the show. He's not happy for various reasons. I've heard that from two different people. So take that for what it's worth. So Filoni and Favreau might have been better off picking someone else to start. The general writing convention in the past season keeps foreshadowing that Djarin is going to die sooner than later. Still believe they should have picked a different actress for Bo Katan, because we may end up with her as the new lead character no matter what.

In next week's episode I'd love to see Grogu sneak off with the darksaber and go pull a Luke, calmly wading through MG's troops on his way to rescuing DD. He should use the saber mainly for defense while using the Force to pop troopers' heads like grapes and maniacally pressing that damn "YES!" button as each one explodes. He should finish by Force choking the #@%! out of Gideon before crushing his shiny new beskar suit like tin foil. We've already seen him Force choke Cara Dune, so we know he's capable, and that was before he spent time with Luke.

At this point I wouldn’t be all that surprised if it’s Thrawn that saves the day next week. Gideon has stupidly picked a fight with the Mandalorians. Mandalore is of no use to the Empire. It’s a shell of a planet. Sure Beskar is nice, but it’s not worth the hassle of fighting the Mandalorians. Thrawn has Gideon’s forces stand down and join him, let the Mandos have Gideon and their planet back, and then they are no longer a nuisance to deal with as they struggle to rebuild their planet. The Imperial power struggle is also resolved and Thrawn’s plans can move forward uninterrupted. Thrawn isn’t above making sacrifices like that to win the greater prize. He let the Rebels escape all the time to further collect data on them to trap them later.

he feels he can blow off a really great part IMO? Yeah there's stuntpeople but KS has two stuntwomen too;
you need people that can act. Maybe it's BS but actors and actresses can be weird. On the other hand folks luv
stirring up drama and gossip. I like KS so if she were the new lead coz of Pascal, it would be Pascal I'd think less of. Don't think the series would ever run that long that it's that much of a burden. I'd be very surprised if true tho. Also if I were hiring a series lead I'd expect commitment.

Agree… the end has to be different… the band of boba and fennec showing up will get old… either that or ahshoka saves the day
