I truly thought he’d come around once he got his long awaited empalement death, but alas, no dice!

Wondering how good sales were on ESB 20th repack (vader/Fett) compared to first issues (Luke/Lando). This will likely have an impact on Hot Toys strategy for their ROTJ line-up. I'd definitely have a Boushh Leia and General lando instead of a repacked Emperor or Jedi Luke that's for sure.

Probably good enough for that to not be an issue. They must’ve made a decent amount of them and they sold through without a problem.

Fett sells in general but OT Fett will sell no matter what. That’s always a license to print money.

They should make a Deluxe Admiral Ackbar with the General Lando outfit as an accessory. Maybe that would help move the leftover Landos. :lol

I think I skipped Vader but got Fett…or was it the other way around 🤔.
At any rate, there’s not much they could do to entice me to repurchase the Emperor and another Fett, tho the Emperor might be interesting if they were smart about it. For V2s, I’ll bite for REALLY compelling repaint or ingenious engineering, not just peers. For instance, I think the light up Vader head represents new innovation for a Vader 1/6th, which makes it a compelling buy.

You never know what Hot Toys will do but part of me wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t announce anything new for the 40th Anniversary of ROTJ on May the 4th. With the AOTC line the figures debuted at SDCC and then on May the 4th we got something different.

Huh, pretty sure we got the first 5 figures of the AoTC anniversary wave announced and up for order during May the 4th last year, with HT also releasing a teaser that more announcements would come later in the year. SDCC showed prototypes of the rest of the Batch, the AT-RT and Obi-Wan from his show which was just put up for order like the week before.

Unless I misread what you said.

Wait yeah, I’m wrong. Last year was C-3PO, R2-D2, Clone Trooper, Clone Pilot, and Battle Droid. I was thinking those were announced later. I guess later were Mace Windu, Super Battle Droid, Anakin, and Padme.

I was so confused lol. I was like I totally remember May 4th being filled with a bunch of AoTC crap because I bought most of it.

We had that tease in early Dec for Mace, Anakin, Padme and SBD, and then later that month they all came out.

The degree that HT embraced AOTC is possibly the strangest, most unexpected thing HT has done since it acquired the SW license.

Honestly, it kinda isn't. Though AoTC isn't the greatest SW movie and we all can debate the pros and cons of it. However, the film is a merchandise gold mine (only trumped by ROTS), between the clones, Jedi, battle droids and to a lesser degree, Padme's outfits lol. Prequel merchandise is at a all-time high right now and you can see it across all major companies for Star Wars collecting.

HT has a clone body and countless legions and characters that they can milk for a decade, and now they have B1 Battle Droids that can be used for a few repaints as well. Funny thing is, all 9 of their anniversary releases, besides Padme, C3-PO and Anakin, could of been used in their TCW or ROTS line. They just used the anniversary as a marketing excuse.

I’m fully expecting 1/6 Lizzo for Star Wars day

At least then they’d have the body to make a Gamorrean guard

Is Salacious Crumb the hint that HT will bring us Jabba...?

Or the nail in the coffin that says 'we won't be making the 2-foot slug".

I'm hoping they are making Jabba and the strategy is to make people buy 3PO to get Salacious Crumb.

Tough to say if Hot Toys will do Jabba. Salacious Crumb could be a hint but it could also just be something thrown in with 3PO because he doesn’t have many other accessories and the scene where he’s getting his eye pulled out is memorable.

Also to be honest I feel like Jabba is one of the rare cases where I’m not sure if Hot Toys will be able to do much to top the Sideshow offering. It’s already a good piece and is still available.
