I've gone for the arm behind-the-back style. Getting the arms to fold properly was too difficult and I really don't like seeing the wrist joint. I will see how he looks on the shelf tonight.

That’s a vast improvement, looks like! The body proportions in particular. And the paint job looks really good. You matched the color well. The effect of adding nail polish seems to work pretty well.

Not sure how much I’m liking the scarring to the arms… But by the same token, I guess overall it’s better than just normal arms…

When I have a go at this, I’m still considering using Apoxie for the ridges on the arms, and leaving the figure in a museum pose. Maybe after adding the Apoxie ridges and letting them cure, I’d smooth on painter’s caulk where the ridges join the arms. Then paint.

Can we see a pic of what the wrist joints look like?

To conceal the wrist joints I would consider finding some wristbands on eBay for Ancient Greek or Roman soldier’s and painting them black to match the suit and cape. Or better yet, if you want to get fancy make them black and gold. Or if they’re bronze colored to begin with you might just leave them that color too.

Thanks!

It doesn't help that the original hands can't be used because they are too small and I don't just mean where the pegs fit. The human hands would have to be painted to match too. I did think of getting my 3D printing guy to make me some more Superman gauntlets. If it was my own design I would happily do it but changing the look doesn't sit right with me.
