Khev’s words are still resonating with me.

Ahmed Jedi > Bunny Boss Fett

Ahmed Best bad assery across the board celebration just proves that so called toxic fans are more than capable of loving people of color characters when they’re handled with proper respect and authenticity.

Had the one dimensional and stiff Reva or goofy Tico been afforded the same level of care and authorship we would’ve celebrated them just as much as we are doing for Ahmed Best and it didn’t even take much effort to get him just right in a limited yet crucial role.
IDK, I thought Ahmed Best was fine as a Jedi but I can't help but wonder: Would we all be celebrating the Kelleran Beq character this much without the AB redemption factor? The more I think about it, the more his character's exploits seemed like rather standard Jedi fare - deflecting blaster fire with a lightsaber here, dispatching a Clone with a Force push there, rinse and repeat. It was enjoyable, but if this was just some random actor I'm not sure we'd view his performance through the same lens.

I had no idea who he was. After the fact I'm happy for him because why not, but watching the scene I kept waiting for him to eat blaster fire like every other no-name Jedi.

I said before but that was smart getting an actor to pander for the fans but AB, minus his sob story out, that was not worth 3 seasons to wait for. It is what it is though.

Hot Toys, when?

Great episode in my opinion. The focus of the season is becoming clearer, and I thought there were some great action sequences. They’re absolutely showing off the N1 constantly. A nice cameo in there too! Paul Sun Hyung Lee was great to see and I’m glad that the new republic storyline actually is connecting to the Mando one. It doesn’t change how unfocused it feels as a whole, but I think there’s a greater opportunity for a better second half of the season than I did before this episode. Will be interesting to see if they can stick the landing.

Well, yeah, Imo tho also full of cheesy tropes and not in a good way. I'm a rabid fan of this show but c'mon.
Spoiler Spoiler:

It was fun but I miss the writing like for the Mando Boba planet Halo episode. Someone needs to put the grit and heart back.

I think I agree with almost all those critiques, especially the New Republic points. It’s just the exact opposite of what I wanted it to be Post-ROTJ. The world building as a whole is in shambles in this show honestly.

But as a contained episode, and for the character stuff I just found myself enjoying it mostly. Hoping the story of the season concludes well because I think it’s on a higher trajectory after this episode than I expected after the first 4 only having 1 i actually liked :lol

I was going to pretend to jump on the bandwagon for this weeks episode, but to be honest it was awesome! That R5 is one sneaky little monkey!

I did really enjoy this episode, had a lot of the elements I like to see from this show.

The Armorer finally realising there’s more than one way to be a Mandalorian, and that people can share different beliefs whilst fighting for the same cause is a big development for her character.

I enjoyed this episode. That cameo was great too!

Remember The Empire was in possession of a significant amount of Beskar due to their occupation and destruction of Mandalore, they may be using it themselves now.

I remain of two minds. The episode entertained me, so it succeeds. Quality is somewhere between Xena: Warrior Princess and a cartoon. Which is fine, not everything can be 'Andor'. The writing is still reeeallly sloppy though. They're advancing the plot which I appreciate and it has its moments, but most of the time they still have the good crayons out.

This does kinda double down on the cynicism of the ST: all of that sacrifice and heroism, only to replace the Empire with an incompetent and blandly evil bureaucracy that has its head so far up its own orifice they're good with peppering their logistical machinery with former Imperials and letting people die because they didn't fill out their tax forms. Yeah, these idiots had it coming.
