The straps for the knee pads and shin guards are a nightmare.:gah:

Purely because the buckles are free floating. So when trying to pull the strap through the buckle you have to try and prevent the other strap from slipping out at the same time.

I couldn't tighten the shin guards to pull them closer around the legs at the top.

I think he's pretty much done, apart from the feathers which I don't know how to tackle.

That looks brilliant!
As for tightening the shin guards, if I remember correctly, they were never flush with the leg to begin with, they looked a bit on the large/loose side.

Ok after being inspired by Asta I decided to try a body swap. Decided to try using a Phicen, so I requisitioned one off another fig of mine, (sorry Nurse Joker) I had to dremel away some of the head connector so the Phicen neck peg would work. It goes faily deep so that was a relief.
I found some biker boots in my parts bin but the rest is from the original fig.

Oh and by the way if your thinking of using a Phicen make sure you have a bit of talc on hand! it will make getting the trousers on a lot easier.
I also trimed the feathers a bit, they were getting on my nerves.

The Phicen body is perfect for the butt shot! :lol
Great work, too bad about the difference in color, but I'm guessing it shows a lot more on camera than to the naked eye.

Did some mods to my Wez. First thing was a body swap with the JX Toys Muscular body, of which i had a spare.

The arms are thicker and give him more bulk. Losing the double jointed elbows aren't too important, as that normally only matters when holding a rifle.

To bulk out the shoulder pads, use a piece of faux leather, fold and glue together.

wez01.jpg

Cut out 2 shapes, about 2 inches by 1 inch.

wez02.jpg

Glue in the centre.

wez03.jpg

Remove the existing pads. Glue one side to the armor.

wez04.jpg

Then the other side.

wez05.jpg

I was originally going to glue the pad straight to the leather, but they would have been angled too far downwards and look wrong. To correct this, cut a slit into the leather.

wez06.jpg

Glue the pad to the leather.

wez07.jpg

Seen from below.

wez08.jpg

Repeat for the other shoulder.

wez09.jpg

As i had the armor off, apply some CA glue to all the leather strap ends. Let it soak in, then wipe off the excess. The hardened ends make threading them a lot easier.

wez10.jpg

I also glued all the open straps to the buckles.

wez11.jpg

wez12.jpg

All assembled. I had to pry out the existing head socket and replace it with a larger one to fit the new body. As i was doing this, red dye from the mohawk, transferred to my hand and back onto the head. He looks a little red faced now, but it's not too bad. I should have covered the head with masking tape first. :slap

I may pick up a loose head and try that again. I also reworked the feathers, by pulling out all the thicker ones and trimming back the remainder.

Yea thats the body I am going for.

I just took a quick look at the Wez figure and I have to admit that it isn't as bad as I had prepared myself for. I actually think it looks pretty good.

I do wish that it looked more like the fantastic prototype pic on the figure box cover but overall, it could certainly be fine on display as is.

But I will definitely be tweaking it further with a new body and Marine Boy's leather shoulder pad updates.

I did notice that the stock figure is taller than a regular 1/6 figure.

Now to go in search of some Wez reference photos to see what may need some additional tweaking.

Wez arrived today! I think this is the first figure I've bought that I started customising before I'd even assembled everything.

Even still, he's a fantastic figure straight out of the box, the initial shots of him in hand really didn't do him any justice.

So far I replaced the body and removed the tshirt and rejigged the shoulder pads slightly. I also padded out the middle of the corset which did wonders for the overall body shape to my tastes. I also trimmed back the feathers, cut maybe half of the length or so. I'm going to be replacing them entirely with some I've ordered off eBay, but happy enough with the collar being a bit closer in proportions for now.

I worked out the shoulder pad should be about the height of his jawline so will get to work on something soon, but even just sticking the shoulder pads up on top of the harness with double sided tape like I've done here makes a appreciable difference, even if it's still inaccurate.

I do believe I'll replace the body with another one I'll order when my Prank Villain preorder arrives at Kit's. I do like this one more than the stock, but I think Wez deserves better.

Still in awe of the head on this guy, it's absolutely amazing in person and captures so much of the menace of the onscreen character.

Forgive the sloppy pad/accessory placement.. I'm not going to be doing anything even semipermanent with the strapped on pieces until the body's finalised.

I see why they added the shirt. It's because there's armour missing from the figure's shoulder area. I didn't take much notice of it before when it was mentioned.

Those extensions from the 'breastplate' prop up the pauldrons.

Something I'm trying out is adding the black shoulder pads from DAM's Glint Team Leader Ryder Watson. I need to work them up under the armour into the right position:

What body did you use on him?

Anyone got a line on micro nuts and bolts that'll work in 1/6th?
Would be nice to add the nut and bolt earring, but I'm considering making a more accurate arm crossbow, based on how very simplified the Marauder's is.

Oooh, p3ss3ssod, I'm so curious about that Raiders ark frame with little Toht... is that the old Well of Souls set?

I truly can't wait to get to work on this Wez.

The most glaring error in al these is those feathers sticking straight up!

Someone fix that mess!!!!
