Very true. It would be hard to top Lim's quality IMO. But, there are ppl who preferably only buy official collectibles. My brother is one of those. No matter how good a 3rd party item may look, he won't get it b/c it's not an officially licensed product.

Niiice collection! Jealous. I NEED that Joel and Ellie. At least, Joel. I've been trying to find them for not such bank-shattering prices as on Ebay. I.E. $1,000... Everyone including the WIPs is looking good here! Also, yeah, I am in both the "be patient," camp and the "IneeditIneeditIneeditnow" camp as far as the 1/6ths go. Lol

My Joel and Ellie aren’t technically CCToys. I just sourced the heads. Ellies shirt is CCToys otherwise it’s all unbranded or from other figures. Joel is mostly made up of parts from the part 2 figure.

Wow... Would you mind particularly sharing (maybe not in this thread lol) how you did all that and how much/how much work it was, please? I wanted to try to cut the cost of buying the actual ones (even though I'd love to just straight-buy the actual ones) by building them like that if it's at all cheaper. And not too difficult lol.
Trying to save funds while we wait enthusiastically for the new enthusiasts to arrive. (Sincere apologies to everyone for prolonging the hijacking, it's just been some kinda cool hijacking imo...) I want both the 1/6ths and the CCs. I can dream.

Well all the stuff needed like the clothes and the heads are not available anymore anywhere as parts to the original set by cctoys are as rare as the figures themselves so the short answer is you can’t. And kitbashing is usually a lot more expensive than buying a readily available figure.

I got the heads years ago.

Just as a general rule of thumb - kitbashing or custom building figures is always more expensive than buying something whole at retail.

New tease from Lim Toys

Something about this seems off to me. He looks too old, I think? But maybe I just need to see it painted. I definitely see Joel, I'm not hating on it, but the wrinkles around the eyes just look a bit too geriatric to me. But again, I will wait until I see it painted and on the figure for final judgement. I have faith that Lim will nail it.

They're basing it off the remake, which I haven't played, so I'm guessing it's more accurate to that than the original model.

That looks pretty damn good. I feel like his mouth/lower jaw can be stretched down just a bit lower? Give him that longer face look.

Great looking sculpt overall though. Excited to see Ellie!

It's literally the game model, it reminds me of what happened with Nate when people said the likeness was wrong from development pictures.

The first picture that was sent was using parallel perspective and harsh lighting which makes all the wrinkles and skin detail very prominent it's like that on purpose so the sculpt retains those details through out the whole casting and sculpting process.

I understand that people will look at it and say it's wrong based on the multiple character renders and screenshots out there using different perspectives, angle and lighting but take it from me, as someone who loves these two and is working very closely with the team on them I guarantee the sculpts are perfect and tweaking their facial structure would destroy their likeness, trust the process.

Here's a final blurry tease, again keep in mind these are 3D and not yet finalized or worked on by our master sculptor or painted or photographed in the real world and to anyone who still doesn't know these are based on the realistic character models of the remake that came out last year, not the 2013 versions, they will have rolling eyes, magnetic necks and very detailed hair made of several parts.

Forgot these will have rolling eyes! Interested in seeing you guys tackle that.

Freakin' awesome! Can't wait to see the final outcome, I really wish for a original sculpts pack if that is possible, that one is my Joel before the second game disaster that just ruined everything for me.

Look incredible just from the tease also baring in mind the quality and likeness of Arthur I'm excited for this.
